i live the majority of my life through a sober state of mind, and through intoxication i can experience it differently. it's kind of like kids spinning around, 'dizzy ducks'. this applies to drugs in general, really.

i find the general feeling of drunkness to be quite nice, not sure why exactly. it just is. and like everyone else has said, the extra confidence and lack of paranoia and what not is a plus aswell.

the whole "artificial happiness" thing, i don't really get. i mean...if you feel happy, you feel happy. who cares how it is induced. without going all philosophical on you, in my books, it's a "true feeling" if you actually feel it. plus, alcohol doesn't exactly create the happiness all on it's own. you have to have a nice situation on top of the alcohol.

and obviously the drinks i have i like the taste of.

bit sad that some people have to drink to improve their personality...
Who said temporary confidence is an improved 'personality'?

I drink ... it doesn't even taste nice, don't see the point really
You tell us, you've admitted you do it.

People who drink stuff they don't even like annoy me. There's no point, there's plenty of variety. But all they do is sit there moaning about how vile it all tastes, when a lot of people actually like it.

I like the taste of beers, most types of beer. But dont really like wine or spirits, apart from rum. Rum and coke is good... but thats from my time in the jungle where its all they have to drink including water.

People see everyone else doing it so they do it too.... crowd mentallity and all that. Personally I don't like the feeling of intoxication too much, so maybe get a little tipsy and leave it at that.

i hate beer and wine, but love spirits, so dont mind drinking them. i like drinking with my friends and it lessens my inhibitions, especially when it comes to dancing! Apparantly I'm much funnier when I'm drunk, but that's not really the reason i drink.

the only downside of drinking are the terrible photos of me on facebook the next day!

I relax far more, and enjoy the night if I've had something to drink. =)

I don't mind those who drink frequently but I don't do it myself.

I drink maybe once a month at the most, and even that will be at home. It just doesn't really do anything for me. I much prefer an evening in with the kitties.

If you're one of them, why do you like drinking? Let me know your thoughts and feelings.

I drink, rarely but I do, but I gain nothing from it, it doesn't even taste nice, don't see the point really, so why do people drink?

I know for some it's that it 'helps' them to dance, socialise whatever but that can't be for the majority of drinkers. Why do you drink?

I drink for three reasons -

    1) I like the taste of certain cocktails. I find the experience of drinking these (irrespective of the effect they have) very pleasureable.

    2) I like the high. I like the feeling of being a little daring, a little reckless, a little oblivious. I like feeling carefree.

    3) I like the result of the high. I like the fact that it makes conversation seem easier, dancing seem more fun. I find it easier to tolerate bad music and lose myself in the moment if I am drunk.

    Cos it's gurrrd!!

Try going to a decent club, get a few drinks down ya and dance the night away! It's just fun and, and drinking itself helps you to relax, which is nice after a busy week, or after stressful exams!

I like the taste, and I love the feeling that knowing after one more drink, you're going to feel all lightheaded and giggly, and that you can excuse any crazy behaviour you do from then on because you are intoxicated, that you can have the courage to do things you wouldn't normally do, and it's just...FUNNY.

God knows why I drink. Its unhealthy, and my wallet is always significantly lighter after it.

I suppose its a bit more fun than not drinking tbh.

I like the taste of some of them, Im fussy though, I like being tipsy/quite drunk and that I can be louder (Im very quiet outside home ) but I dont like exceeding 5 units cause it makes me sick as I'm skinny, being sick ruins it for me. When I hear about people saying "oh yeah I had 10 pints" Im like How?? I know some people are bigger but how can the amount of beer not make you sick?
