If you have a wine society you would have to play Winehands like every weekly social! I'm game for a wine society though, I wish there was a Gentlemans Society where we smoke cigars and swirl brandy around in glasses and wear smoking blazers with our initials on them.

Huzzah.

You could just go the whole hog and call it the "sexism is still very visible in our society society?"

Doesnt' that already exist? That tickled pink one I got the no-spikey-drinky-things from?

I don't know a single member, thinking about it.

And they did all look like barbies, if I remember correctly. They should have a soc for ladies to be unladylike in. :p: I'd join that one!

Don't worry, I'm sure the wine soc will encompass that as well

It was probably unintentional, but playing on all the male stereotypes, plus called the "Gentleman's" society. Come onnn, that was a nice old example of old-fashioned sexist stereotypes. Whether you meant it or not, but I wasn't being serious in challenging it, hence the at the end.

I know of some people who were intending to set up a foreign film soc, which I want in on.

I want to join Archery, Nomadic Players and/or Curtain Call, Aberdance (despite my malco-ordination, I love dancing ^-^), and is the Elizabethan Madrigal Singers still around, or did somebody make that up as a joke?
Also, Paintball FTW

Join the Horse Riding Club!!!!!
( am social sec/ trip organiser for coming year)

its not the classic stereotype at all (otherwise i would have been thrown out loooong ago)
and the socials are always a good giggle/drunken mess, as well as discount at local riding schools and trips away etc etc
and.....
Club of the Year last year!!

the conservation club is also a really well organised club, with activities every Saturday

My friend is in the Mads choir. I think it would probably be more fun to be in a less serious kind of music thing.

Spoons Society anyone?

Agreed, but I was a bit of a coward about going there without knowing anyone so just never went, I guess. I'll try go sometime in the next year, even if I don't know anyone.
