I found A copy of Mein Kampf on the bus last year and couldn't resist reading the first few pages.

Not the kind of thing you want to be reading on public transport in what was an area with a high minority population....
The first few pages are fascinating! I can't believe he wanted to be a dancer!

this country still isn't really ready to stop blaming Germany for the war.
I think England will never stop blaming Germany, atleast not until they finish paying back the war debt :p:

But no, monsieur. I didn't say I agreed with that specious logic; I said it was why people generally consider him to be a Nazi. So the irony is on you.
That wouldn't be irony.

Though UKIP, the BNP et al. never really add anything of value to British politics.
Why don't we examine the contribution of socialists throughout political history? Maybe we can start with the "National Socialist German workers party"?

Maybe you ought to (consider your ignorance and) find out about the history of socialism, and it's legacy of mass murder and racist genocides throughout history.

You know what, this thread is just making me angry. Lots of people being defensive - people DO NOT assume you're a nazi unless you give them reason too - if they do then they are not worth your time.

But you know what annoys me most? People of the far right are so bloody patronizing. (along with many christians - not all of them don't have a go)

Why have you remembered all this?! Why did you want to read Mein Kampf?! You ARE a Nazi! :p:

My History teacher told the class that Mein Kampf is terribly boring but it's possible she just wanted to deter us from reading it. Even so, if it is boring, it's weird to have read it!

I've experienced a similar thing recently. I rely on buses to get around and I recently shaved my head for a change. I also happen to be reading this. The looks I got were a bit funny :p:

Well, I think you will find that it is irony, as you said my position was ignorant, whilst in fact holding such a position yourself.

And why do you assume that I am a socialist? I am a member of the TSR socialism society, but I do not agree with Marxist doctrine in its entirety, nor do I agree with its current application. I don't claim to be knowledgeable to a great degree about many things, but I haven't heard one good argument for nationalism. I have, however, heard good arguments for conservatism, even though I don't accept the ideology myself.

Just because Hitler put "Socialist" in the name of the party doesn't mean he believed in any Socialist values or policies.

He just wanted to garner as much support from every section of society during his rise to power.

Nationalism just holds that a nation as defined by it's people should be able to be autonomous and soveriegn. I am a nationalist and I have killed very few jews.

So are you denying that Germany caused WW2?

Im not saying we should hold it against them, but we should always remember history, lest we forget.

Maybe it's your knowledge of Hitler-based trivia that makes people think you're a Nazi? :p:
