Antony and Johnsons - Hope There's Someone. I don't listen to it much, because it's depressing. Also because I can't decide whether his voice is different but good, or just plain weird :p:

Nearly everything i'm listening to at the minute.

For some reason The Tide by The Spill canvas, Iris by Goo Goo Dolls and Nobody Loves You by Reuben always get the tear ducts into overdrive...

A wee selection!! :

where were you - alan jackson
broken vow - josh groban
remember when it rained - josh groban
fields of gold - eva cassidy
the dance - garth brooks
I believe there are angels among us - alabama
i don't know you anymore - savage garden
imagine all the people - john lennon
in the arms of an angel - sarah mclachlan
pippins song - lord of the rings
now comest the night - rob thomas
running for home - matthew good band
i shall believe - sheryl crow
the blowers daughter - damien rice
the rose - bette midler
tonight i want to cry - keith urban
Wow I don't know that many people who even know a single track by Matthew Good/the Matthew Good Band. I used to love Weapon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8nCCeRPa5E

A similar Canadian band that you may like/know are Pilate (Pilot Speed now)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvY-TJSrYP0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUep5...eature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxjI3u_n01M (I find that's the saddest song, unfortunately it's only a 2min intro track on their debut album)

Damien Rice's The Blowers Daughter has something that upsets you instantly, it's quite unnerving. I find Amie has the same effect but I prefer how it's a bit more subtle of a sad song.

I know it's a Good Charlotte song and that says it all, but this one in particular sets me off because my father pretty much walked away from my sister and I (him and mum separated years before) when I was 7. This song (with a few technical differences, he/she etc) sums up some of the things I would say to him if I ever confronted him about it or wrote him a letter.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kORzKKadrII

I cry myself to sleep with this song at times.

It's weird to see Elephant Gun in a 'sad' playlist when I consider it one of the most uplifting songs ever written. :p: I wonder if we have opposite reactions to Rhineland (Heartland).
