I pronounce it as "bean" - but the extremes of Dublin dialect would have it as "bee-yin".

Depends on whereabouts in a sentance you are using it and what accent you are using. Not really such a thing as one of them being wrong to be honest... Not like the pronounciation of H!

It depends, but usually "bin"...unless I'm talking to somebody important and I make a conscious effort to speaker properly.

Do you lot who say "bin" also say "sin" for seen? I do.

Seeing as how there's an accent difference to begin with, I'm not sure how the bean pronouncers are even saying bean.

    Is it
    1) b-(long e)-n, or
    2) b-(long e)-eh-n?

I have a hard time imagining the first one.

Wow, I say bin. This is the first time I've realised that I don't pronounce a word the standard English way.

Standard English is pronounced like 'bean' but many people pronounce it like 'bin' (I think it may be a Northern/Southern variation) there's no wrong or right answer, just the way different accents pronounce certain words. Received Pronunciation (the accent of Standard English) would pronounce it as 'bean'.

Both. Probably depends who I'm talking to. If it is my gran, I'd ask "How have you bean?" whereas my mates it would be "What you bin up to?"

For those who keep saying Standard English has 'bean' as the correct pronunciation...

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/been

I couldn't care less if someone pronounces been as bean, but to make it out as that being the correct pronunciation and bin being incorrect is about as lame as it gets.
