Oh dear, I must have annoyed many a doc then :P
I don't mind if it is followed by something useful but most of the time it isn't!

That's particularly grim.

Having said that, I picked up both blood and urine on a single trauma.

Can't really top that and now this is going to seem so insignificant.

It really annoys me when I press the nozzle of the alcohol gel dispenser too hard and the gel flies out to land on my shoe and/or tie.

Or when I put on my gloves before the plastic apron meaning that it is much harder to open out and put on the apron than normal. Then after a futile struggle and hapless glance, a nurse helps you put it on and then they laugh but then sigh at the sorry state a supposed intellectual individual got themselves into. All the while my face has the shape and colour of an un-opened baby bel.

Not a medical student, but that annoys me too!

Mine has to beee..the cleaners!! Lets just say scrubs has it spot on, at the qmc they all sit on the same table, and like to find some way to make the student nurses lives hell during lunch

On the alcohol gel issue - the feeling you get after spirigelling your hands more than about 3 times, and it starts to go all grainy. Not sure if all brands do this?

And on the apron thing - getting ********* by an HCA for going into a side room in the wrong colour apron. Then her proceding to tell the ward that she's not afraid to tell off the doctors any more because patient safety is more important. Because the colour of the apron relates to how effective it is?

I've thought that myself...i'll try and find out if it does lol

I think that was a "sarcastic" question.

Myself. (oooh, deep!)

I missed a cannula today (twice) on a guy with amazing veins, where it should have been a doddle. Part of me is annoyed that I cocked up something I should be able to do easily by now, and the other part is annoyed that I get so annoyed about silly things which I will (hopefully) get sorted out soon enough! I'm very good at beating myself up.

Sometimes biiig veins are a nightmare - especially if they are thick. It takes so much force to puncture the bloody thing that there is then little you can do to stop you going straight through the other flipping side

You'ld not be a good student if you were no good at beating yourself up
