Especially the center back, Moore.

He used to stand there for about 10 seconds while watching the ball roll between his legs.

Good times.

Too right. Completely useless against anyone with an ounce of skill.

I'd certainly not swap united's under-17s brazilian captain for him, especially seeing how he tackles!

Forlan - Man utd.
If you think it's Forlan then you know nothing about football apart from the media's crap.

He was bought for £7 million, I think, so not a large amount (Andy Cole, excellent player but starting to pass his peak, was sold that month for not much less). He wasn't given a chance all season, only coming on for minutes at the end of the game. Even the very best players are unlikely to score much in those circumstances.

The following season he started getting more chances. His sub apperances were more succesful and included two fairly late equalisers in consecutive games (if United had lost those two games their title chances were gone). He also scored a few other important goals including a brace against Liverpool (vital win) and winner against Chelsea in the closing minutes. So not a great number of goals, but bloody vital ones. He made as important a contribtution to that title winning team as Scholes and Van Nistelrooy did.

Then the season after that (03-04) van Nistelrooy was injured so Forlan was given his chance and was able to string some games together. He went on a goal streak scoring in four or five consecutive games (including a superb volley in the Champions League) but van Nistelrooy comes back and he's made to sit on the bench again. Leaving him out of the FA cup final squad was disgraceful and a great lack of respect. He was unfairly treated by both the media and, to an extent, his own club.

He was worth every single penny, and then some. He is a quality player. You don't win the European Golden boot (as he did in his first season in Spain after leaving Manchester United) by being a crap player. His international record wasn't too bad either. A hat tick against Brazil sticks out in my mind.

People and the media got on his back because he played for Manchester United. Anyone who is not a sheep and looks beyond this realises he is a quality player.

Ali Dia - Southampton.
:yep: Although I'd disqualify him, given his one appearence (what was it? 30 minutes?). He went to Gateshead (not far from me) after Southampton and I think he only managed one goal there  then again, he probably only made a handful of appearences.

I'm sorry but John O'Shea is one of the worst footballers I have ever seen grace a football pitch.

I guess you didn't pick up on my sarcasm.
I meant his first game for Manchester United. He really was impressive, a real driving force in the midfield. Very much in Bryan Robson mould. It went downhill from then.

Kleberson was also a disappointment. He dislocated his shoulder, I think, so didn't play until September/October. His debut was against Blackburn, if memory serves, and he was quite impressive. Never really lived up to that promise. Still nowhere near the worst to play in the premiership.
