My best tip for note-taking is various colours, I have different colours for different things so they stand out on the page when I'm going back through my notes (i.e. general writing in black, new words in red, quotes in green etc)

If I'm looking for a certain thing its easier to skim over the notes to find it, makes everything quicker I find - plus its harder to get bored so quick compared to when you're reading a block of black writing

My best note taking tip is to use the cornell note taking method which is the optimum way for uni students to get all the information down in a concise manner.
