I remember once at a khutbah the imam was saying, if you saw the Prophet (SAW) the same way he is described in the text, like his facial features etc. then it is him, but if you see a person that doesn't match the description of how he is in ahadith, then that is shaytaan.

In the hadith it is said:

من رآني في المنام فقد رآني فإن الشيطان لا يتمثل في صورتي
Whoever sees me in their sleep they have truly seen me as the devil doesn't take my form.
So if the person dreams of the prophet they have seen the prophet.

Someone needs to have a word with the imam of ELM then...

    Further reading yielded this:
لكن ربما بأسمه والشكل يختلف عن مواصفات النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Indeed the devil cannot take the form of the prophet, but may take his name and appear in a form different than that of the prophet.

Isn't that contradicting the first hadith

Meaning you haven't seen the prophet, rather the devil says
''i'm the prophet'' but looks nothing like the prophet pbuhز
And this from fath al bari:
من رآه على غير صفته أن تكون رؤياه من الأضغاث
And whomever sees the prophet in forms other than described then it is a meaningless dream.

    Np sis

    Please see here:

    And:

Below is an excerpt quoted in the 2nd link:
"We have narrated it with a complete isnaad from Ismaa’eel ibn Ishaaq al-Qaadi from Sulaymaan ibn Harb – who was one of the shaykhs of al-Bukhaari – from Hammaad ibn Zayd from Ayyoob who said: If a man told Muhammad (meaning Ibn Sireen) that he had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) [in a dream], he would say, “Describe to me the one whom you saw.” If he gave a description that he did not recognize, he would say, “You did not see him.” Its isnaad is saheeh, and I have found another report which corroborates it. Al-Haakim narrated via ‘Aasim ibn Kulayb (who said), my father told me: I said to Ibn ‘Abbaas, “I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in a dream.” He said, “Describe him to me.” He said, “I mentioned al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali and said that he looked like him.” He said, “You did indeed see him.” Its isnaad is jayyid

Idk for some reason I thought you were a female. Perhaps I thought you referred to me as 'hun' in a post...maybe that was someone else, then
Out of curiosity, you aren't the old squishy from a while back, are you?
