You sure do love your s

You are not a geek, you're a good student. Shopping is fun... did you pick me up anything from the bullring? :flutter: :p:
Ha I don't even know how to get to the bullring lol. I can get from uni to new street station and that's about it. But I didn't go shopping anyway.

Oh and my laptop has decided to corrupt or something and I've had to reinstall windows and I've lost everything off it. All of my uni work because I hadn't saved it anywhere else. That's what a good student I am

Errr :o:

I appear to have lost all motivation, so things are going slowly. They have been picking up now IT is slightly worrying that in a term I've managed to lose all enthusiasm for Engineering, but I'm sure it'll come back :p:

And enjoy lazing and pop your head in the MUN from time to time :p: There's a tasty new hyp

Well if it makes you feel any better I feel like dropping out of architecture every day
I've even been strongly considering going for engineering, such a shame - I applied for straight architecture and THEN saw the dual engineer/architecture course at Sheff.. didn't bother changing.
In my presentations and work I usually get good comments about construction and details..

Ah motivation whatever.. you need a break!! enjoy it.. and things will kick in again, sometimes you need a break from it all to really understand what it is you enjoy about the course! Trust me on that one.

Yeah I am planning on doing that..planning a mass attack post... need to research a bit

Heheh, I seriously considered Architecture :p: Thing is that I find the ccreative and aesthetic siide of architecture fascinating, but structural engineering rather mundane :p: Mechanics is so much more interesting. All are difficult though

Unfortunately I've already had a break of a week and a half :p: But I know what you mean

After you've done all the silly bits and bobs that architecture entails though, you'll have a respected profession waiting for you. In all likelihood I'll have a degree that will fascinate me but have very few real life applications. Unfortunately that's what I'm like, I'll choose modules based on whether I find them interesting, rather than whether they actually lead anywhere :p:

Ah... well I hasten to disagree.. engineers for one get more money than architects lol
But I see your reasoning.. but after what I've seen through architecture, I can see that there are many opportunities for engineers in a multitude of fields.. so there is plenty of scope - and there are also a number of practices that are engineering orientated like Atkins and Arup and buro happold. Dependant on the modules you've chosen most certainly - but what I'd suggest is to go into something that is highly specialised, especially with the credit crunch coming really.. it would also imply that you are in demand.. !! that's my plan anyway.. if you fancy a chat I'd be more that happy to add you onto MSN?

We do get money it's true :p:

Atkins?! Arup?! *makes sign of cross*

They are arch-enemies of my old employer :o:

Of course I have to get through part 1A and part 1B before I have to choose anything, so things could change hugely :p:

Nope wasn't me. My laptop is only just a year old I might send it back because it's still under guarantee. Luckily my mum's work friend managed to find all my work on there, everything had actually saved on it, just in a folder hidden away. Just need to sort the internet out which I can't do. It's all backed up now though!!!!

No uni now til next year

I am actually quite impressed he managed to get a few words in the right place, the laws of physics and alcohol should see him in a puddle of his own vomit :p: KM didn't really look all that happy, lol.

Would you get a replacement laptop or would they just fix it?

Well done on finishing your first term of uni :dancing:

Ugh, I am so bored. I've tried organising a trip to the pub but it seems I'm quite unpopular and noone wants to go

I won something at work today! I had to have my photo taken and now its going to be on the intranet for the whole council I work for :o:
