Does the Labour Party commend Cameron for paying over £400k in taxes since 2010 (an effective tax rate of 37%), far more than the comrade ever will. Think of how many nurses and doctors salaries he's funding.
No, because (especially as a politician) you have a responsibility to pay all of your taxes. Legally avoiding tax is still immoral. I prefer to think about how many extra nurses and docs COULD have been hired.

This wouldn't be a big deal if he'd been open at the start, admitted he had profited and resolved to not be a hypocrit and take steps to close those loopholes, but he hasn't, won't and deserves all he gets.

This is why I should be chancellor next term, not only will it finish off my checklist of having served in all 3 great offices but I'm also one of the most active and longest serving people in the house. The house needs #ChancelorAph

He has indeed. He was given as much of a chance to return as possible but when it reached a point where he hadn't voted on the last few items and there were 8 votes in division closing soon, 2 of which were critical, we didn't have a choice but to replace him.

I am genuinely wondering if something nasty's happened to him irl, he used to be one of the first to vote on everything even if he was having a quiet period and his drop in activity was very sudden, no 'I'm leaving' statement or anything like that. I hope not.

You're always welcome to pass the chancellorship my way if both Labour and the Liberals can't field an economically competent chancellor.

I have a feeling that someone is tracking down and executing all former chancellors. There is no other explanation. Other then people in all positions disappear and people only notice the chancellor because it's some kind or importance bias or something.

As tempting as that sounds I think you should just award me the position because I've been an awsome deputy whip.

Only if you promise to wear a Momentum T-shirt at all times whilst in the Treasury building and shout 'John McDonnell is my god and I love nationalisation' once every five minutes

I'm not sure Labour would be too happy with the budget I'd have made.

Could be decent actually. I am paying the basic rate on all my earnings at the moment, so that's 20% of everything, I was thinking about just scrapping it, or just scrapping income tax altogether. We can replace it with a pasty tax or something.
