What´s so special about Messi's free kick?
Can you officially take it before the whistle? Does it depend on the ref?
If you could, then surely every team would take a quick free kick whilst the wall was being created and the GK out of position...
Atletico deserved at least a draw from that game. I don't think the Messi goal should have stood, and Atleti were denied a clear penalty near the end from a Busquets handball.
Brilliant effort from the lads though.
If you gain permission from the referee to take a quick free-kick, you're perfectly entitled to...
It is dumb that people would even argue against a quick free kick being taken. You committed the foul, you should not have the advantage of deciding when you're ready to defend it.
People saying it shouldn't be allowed clearly don't know the rules. It was perfectly legal. Every team takes quick free kicks but they usually pass it, Messi just decided to shoot this time.
Nevertheless it was amazingly accurate and even if the keeper was ready it would have took an amazing save to stop it.
Just wanted to say that Ahmed Hassan (Anderlecht, Zamalek and Egypt) will become the official world's most capped player tomorrow.
Nélson Oliveira of Portugal.
What's the lowdown on him guys?
