Similar to Stoke game last week, dire first half. Lucky not to concede a goal from that last corner of the half. Arsenal losing so we have to ****ing capitalise.

We have barely gotten a foot into this game, and when we finally get possession of the ball we either give it away by not passing properly or we just pass side wards. No attacking impetus whatsoever, we'll probably see Gerrard coming on during the second half if we carry on playing so crap.

At least Arsenal are losing 3-0 to Stoke. :awesome:

Didn't like the sideways possession at all. Lallana and Coutinho need to be offering more movement in between the lines.

Come on, boys. We'll be level with Arsenal if they lose and we get a winner.

Lovely run by Sterling, such a shame Coutinho couldn't finish

Why are we always trying to cut in and play down the centre against wall of blue shirts, need to use the width more.

No one in this team can put in a decent cross. Poor performance, Sunderland may have been able to keep out Chelsea but we didn't do enough to trouble them. Lambert was non existent today.

    awful.

one good thing i'll say is that on the whole we defended well - toure in particular had a good game.
but creation wise we're as embarrassing as always.

this was a lovely chance to get level on points with arsenal in a game where we're at home to a bottom half club coming off 2 straight wins.
    as usual we bottled it.
all i can say is that 1 point is better than 0.

Incredibly frustrating we couldn't get a goal and win the match, if we did we would have been level with Arsenal and a few points off 4th. :banghead:

It's also really frustrating how Sterling tends to play for the penalty and goes down easily rather than just whipping the ball in.

Sterling should play in the middle some more rather than on a wing just feel he's more effective in the hole directly running at a defence than playing around the byline.

From what I saw Rodgers should have played a less offensive team at the start so that when the legs of the Sunderland team got tired he could bring on Coutinho as a sub e.g. Not much you can do when your first and second choice striker are not fit and you're facing a team who is just sitting deep for large periods of the game.

Lucas was immense today. Just stopped any sort of threat by Sunderland.

Gerrard did lift the side. There was a lot more neat and quick passing without Gerrard on the pitch but you can see his quality on the ball when he's on the pitch.

Lambert didn't get involved enough for me today.

Sterling was very up and then down. Some sheer brilliance but also some terrible decision making.

We have been more solid with Toure at the back. Can't see Lovren getting back in (or least he shouldn't any time soon).

Markovic actually looked decent when he came on. Looks like he's getting used to the pace/power slowly.
