    Saracen's Fez - any update on VA163 and VA165?
I believe he said they are getting announced tonight when he announces the elections results

    (Original post by Saracen's Fez)
Yes. I'll announce them and declare the remaining results from division tonight.

Saracen's Fez Please could you clarify the circumstances under which a piece of legislation would be rejected because its content was too similar to that of another, previously-submitted item? Also, more specifically, if an item was submitted that was similar in content to part of a previously-submitted but rejected item, would it be accepted or rejected?

My understanding is that the rule doesn't apply across terms. It's only if something almost identical has been submitted the same term that it's rejected - and the similarity rule clearly isn't very broad in scope considering the Finance Bill v2 debacle.

I'm aware, but there is a potential clash between something that another Socialist wants to do this term (that has a rather slim chance of passing) and something else that I want to do this term

    Make sure you're first then

Or have the one that has the least chance of passing as the first reading and then if it hasn't got the support needed change it to your one for the second reading

It is likely (but not completely guaranteed – I make decisions on a case-by–case basis) that even the same item submitted in the following term would be accepted again.

I personally think Mr Whiskers could be in a coffin as we speak. Was there really an imposter cat in his place when the Cabinet was captured? I'm not so sure. :dontknow:

Does that mean we can get onto bills?
We don't need a government for that.

You can submit now, but nothing will go up until tomorrow's update.
