Having won that award for at least the last 3 years why not just name it after me? I'll officially rule myself out of the running to save the embarrassment of me winning my own award :nopity:

Can we get rid of the archaic rule that you need a mod to approve threads in the matchday forum? I really don't see what purpose this serves, especially when moderators are non existant around here at the moment. People are just making threads in the main subforum.

I'll make sure this gets discussed. I agree, it seems frustrating for you guys and a bit laborious for us :yy:

I wasn't even aware of this mechanic, it's that archaic. Does anyone know what the original rationale was? :erm: Was it a spam control measure?

Honestly can't remember. I think the main argument was to prevent loads of threads popping up for games which wouldn't warrant much discussion, but I don't recall one such thread ever being made. People only bother making one if it's for something like Manchester United vs Liverpool or Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid, a big game where most people will be watching regardless of what team they support.

It's a shame I didn't have more time this time around as I would have done some write ups.

We had separate threads for every group with a small write-up about the teams in 2010, to keep all the discussion nice and organised. Does a mod want to do something similar? Obviously not the write up part, ain't nobody got time for that at the moment, but there just seems to be a bunch of random threads atm. Because there will be matches that won't be popular enough for a separate thread but some will still watch it.

I've made a poverty one for Group A if someone wants to do the others, if not I'll do them tomorrow or something.

Every fan should get a tag to show what team they support in their profile. However, for this to be verified, their IP address should have to come from within 20 miles of the stadium of the team they claim to support.

I don't see the point of the ultimate football thread now all discussion takes place in the society threads or another appropriate thread - it maybe shouldnt be stickied ?
