Good to hear, hopefully that will mean many active and contributing members to the MHoC next term
Let us hope so

I agree, but then again i wasn't going to vote labour anyway. I thought something might have happened tonight to change your mind
Sort of actually, Crypto putting in a "best debater" performance above summed up my thoughts pretty accurately.

Really? It doesn't feel like five minutes ago since I first started.
Lots of my memories of big events here feel like they happened yesterday. Probably all ancient history now in HOC terms!

It is quite startling how quickly time passes and eras and people come and go here.

Yep, apparently Nick Robinson did the same sort of demolition job as well. The media have scented blood. DC did old eddy-boy a favour by recalling parliament.
I've been quite cynical about this though, in that by leaving open the recall possibility all week, Cameron has kept the media's focus on this issue and distracted them from Ed's speech and Labour's conference. I can't see him being PM, but it will be interesting to see who succeeds Miliband as Labour party leader.

Unsurprising news on your election, you've led the campaign so far

Many congratulations and for a stat, if the government is returned, you'll be the twenty-fifth individual prime minister

Thanks for posting the link. His mistake and the subsequent fallout has overshadowed his speech and its content completely which is hardly great in the run up to an election. Snow is excellent in this video and he asks the questions and pressed issues which probably should have been dealt with ages ago.
Apparently the Indie will be sponsoring the Tory conference next week. Since they tend to back whoever they think will win, that's pretty bad news if its the start of more Tory friendly coverage from them.

Hear, hear!

So are we going to put forward a bill next term curbing the powers of or abolishing the National Assembly for Wales (with 4 times the support that independence has by the way)?
Wales should declared the 10th region of England. Its current assembly can be used for a joint economic zone comprising Swansea-Cardiff-Newport-Bristol.

Ideally Scotland and NI would be limited to economic powers but we'd have to find a way to sweeten the deal so as not to annoy the separatists too much.

As someone who opposes the EU and wants a referendum, that's definitely not a nightmare for me! Albeit I agree with UKIP on precious little else and likely want out for some different reasons.

The I (not the independent) always struck me as a pretty impartial newspaper. Plus it being 20p helps make it more appealing to buy.

EDIT: Ugly Sun front page tomorrow:https://twitter.com/suttonnick/statu...340224/photo/1
After the reaction his last photo op for that paper got, I can't say I blame him for not appearing.

You may try.

(Such an undemocratic travesty of Westminster centralisation would also go against your party's manifesto commitments, incidentally).

I never really understood why people support Help for Heroes so much. Fair enough if conscription existed in the UK, but it doesn't. People choose to go into the armed forces. Just like people choose to go to law school or teacher training college. Whoop.

I haven't actually been paying much attention to politics lately, but despite being happy to give him time to change initially, he still isn't near good enough to be PM, nor am I impressed by the messages Labour are sending out.
I don't really get the whole 'reducing fees to £6k' thing either. It won't help the poorest in society, it'll only help the richest, who will pay back the difference between the two figures.

Plus, y'know, the whole thing that Labour introduced tuition fees from the start when they said they wouldn't. And that's when they were in majority government.

Quick Announcement: I've just been elected Leader of the TSR Labour Party.

Hurrah for Labour!
Hurrah for the Model House of Commons!
I am actually glad to read that and offer my congratulations because I hope it means that Labour will finally become Labour again, instead of 'cross-dressing' communists (TSR Socialists). Good luck!

We agree on something. People are being manipulated so that the US will continue to have an always ready ally eager to risk the lives of its peoples and international reputation by supporting US terrorism in the name of spreading democracy. There is really nothing heroic about invading a country, searching for fabricated WMDs, and taking a bullet while shooting on some shepherds despite having much better equipment.

Indeed.

I must admit - when I saw that you'd quoted me I thought you were going to spout some nonsense to the contrary

Congrats.

Is this a win for the Blairites or will you continue to sicken me with your decadent commie orgy.
