Ermmm, well, does that mean I'm not human because I'm not scared of the dark or unknown...? - and to be honest, nor being alone - despite being alone sucking, doesn't mean that people fear it...
Just supporting Aph's point- I think he said 'Humans are BORN with 3 basic fears' therefore although you may have adapted to this now...if you are to place any child, alone in the dark then I doubt he/she would have the same mindset.

We could argue that the environment and society has allowed you to overcome this fear that you once had.- So yes, you are human you just managed to bring it under your own control.

I apologise if that point was utter rubbish and it isn't what you meant by what you said at all!

First of all I'm not on about eugenics, just sustainability. But rakas is the most notable eugenics supporter here.

Mathematics and philosophy could be used by animals too, maybe just innately but still.

And I'm not sure I understand what you are saying? Are you implying that we are better because of what we have done as a result of socialism?
I never said you did, but there was potential for it to go that way

If so in a very primitive form

When did u Menton anything about socialism? And it depends on how we define 'better'

Ha!

This is me currently;
30 - Convince yourself that a £1500 bike is ‘a good investment’. < Big mistake.
31 - Start using fabric softener as well as washing powder. < Good mistake.
32 - Spend an afternoon with the in-laws without drinking heavily. < Shoot me.
33 - Choose a bottle of wine in a restaurant that isn’t in the top three on the list. < Some are better.
34 - Spend over £75 on a frying pan or kitchen knife and feel absurdly happy about it. < Did this at uni.
36 - Complain vociferously about music/fashion/films not being as good as they were in your day. < I prefer the 60s for telly and anything pre-70s for films.
42 - Grudgingly accept that you actually look better in a suit than a T-shirt. < Without a doubt, learnt this as a child.
46 - Develop an obsessive, all-consuming interest in military history. < Started in secondary.
47 - Rejoice! You can now afford the deposit on your first home. < During uni.
48 - Develop extremely forthright and surprisingly right-wing views on immigration. < In France.
50 - Become increasingly aware that you are in fact an incredibly angry driver. < Lost my licence once already.
64 - Finally master the art of bleeding a radiator. < Who doesn't know this?

I'm approximately 40 years old
I was fairly select in mine.
Surly you don't need to go to France to realise that at the very least keeping the French out is a good idea?
And yeah, how do people not know how to bleed a radiator?!

They do, although you would refuse to call it art. And also science has decided that they are self aware so unless you know better then the top biologists and psychologists...

Also impossible, all humans are born with the 3 basic fears:
Fear of the dark
Fear of the unknown
Fear of being alone.

Death encompasses all 3.
Science has decided no such thing; some scientists have decided to think that. DI you know that up until five minutes ago scientists refused to analyse the possibility humans were conscious? Thank God for philosophers.

Literally all of the those are impossible in death. Literally, aren't you studying maths? That's basic logic if you look at any reasonable definition of a final death.

No, if you want a eugenics debate go to rakas.

You talked about how there are loads of people who are alive that should be dead and who have a decent quality of life who otherwise wouldn't and that's socalism.

It's not a big leap when we know, or are fairly certain that religion was caused by Us Becoming self aware. Which is what I was saying. If self awareness caused us to have religion then to conclude that it would have a similar effect on animals for similar reasons (fear of ceasing to exist ect.).
Self awareness is just one aspect of being an advanced species. Elephants and Dolphin's are extremely intelligent animals however they only have 5 lobes rather than 7 suggesting that even if they have hopes and dreams, their intelligence would be limited.

Wouldn't be much of a debate

And that isn't socialism... Or at least not necessarily, I would only argue for sufficiency tentatively.

A large number of scientists have. And like I said we will always set the bar so that we win.

So when you die is it not dark because you cannot see, that explains why heaven is depicted as having a bright light...
Are you not alone because you have left your body, that explains why we are told that our friends and family are there.
And is what happens after death unknown? I'd say it meets all those criteria.

Indeed i am. The idea that we should not create Ubersmench is extremely illogical.

Self awareness and emotion are the 2 biggest things we look at.

Really? Which lobes are they missing?

Now may be my chance, bit there is no point, all it would be is a case of confirming my correct thinking, and him confirming his correct thinking

"Socialism*is a social and economic system characterised by*social ownership*of the*means of production*and co-operative management of the economy,[1][2]*as well as a political theory and movement that aims at the establishment of such a system."
VERY different from what was described.

Science still cannot explain why or how consciousness occurs, or even what it is. Looking at the brain isn't yielding answers.

In bold is everything that you've said that is ridiculous.

You have to experience to experience darkness. So you can't do that if death is the end.

You haven't "left your body". You are dead. You cannot be alone becuase that logically entails your existence.

There isn't a you to not know.

These are just basic logical deductions. I don't see how they;re not obvious.

but this is a place for debate!!!

Ok, I'll accept that. But it is also very far off free-market capitalism.

thats not how the mind works... Humans are illogical and would say what I said. It's the emotional response not the rational one.

Atheist, I believe that religion was needed and is a natural part of evolution but we are now evolving beyond its use.

Dolphin's are extremely intelligent animals however they only have 5 lobes rather than 7 suggesting that even if they have hopes and dreams, their intelligence would be limited.

I couldn't find this apparent fact.

However, what I did find was... 'the brain of a dolphin is split into 4 lobes rather than 3 like in humans. The fourth lobe in the dolphin's brain hosts all the senses whereas in some humans these senses are split. Some believe that having all the senses in one lobe allow the dolphin to make immediate and complicated judgements which are beyond the scope of human ability'.

So would you say that eliminates your point about the dolphin's intelligence??
