Can I get some feedback on Dundee vs. Nottingham medical schools, please? The latter gives two degrees in 5 years?

i guess it depends how much you value the second degree...if its in an area you want to specialise in then maybe its worth it...but if it isn't it may not necessarily be what you want. Most other universities offer the chance to do a BMsc which is useful if you have particular interests but obviously takes the extra year.

Outwith the extra degree, I'd say remember the city is where you have to live for the next 5 years, visit both and see if you can see yourself living there. Look at the degree rankings in the Times, Guardian etc and the research at both uni's. Also use the NSS data to compare student experiences. The NSS gives information of the year that graduated last's experiences at the uni. Look at the course styles...do you personally learn better from a more hands-on involved course or a lecture style teaching etc...

I've just realised we were supposed to upload documents. Any idea if this will prolong the process? Also, how do you upload more than one document into each segment?
I have got an offer although I still haven't uploaded any documents, and I cannot recall any email asking us to upload documents on eVision.. So I was just gonna leave it blank..

Thanks for your reply. Is the teaching style much different between they two?

Honestly couldn't tell you having only applied to Scottish uni's so that is something you will have to research and decide for yourself

What are the advantages and disadvantages of living at home? Do disadvantages outweigh advantages?

I think @nottie is currently studying medicine at Nottingham and might be able to answer? I don't know if TSR lets you tag people like Facebook!

Staying at home will take away the stress of having to be independent, but moving out will probably allow you to get heavily involved with the University - from a social perspective! A lot of my friends stayed at home in first year, and regret it a lot, as all their friends are now sharing flats for second year because they lived together in halls (and they didn't)! It can be expensive, but it's probably so worth it! It's the best way to make friends with people outside of Medicine!

From what I can tell the way that Dundee is sending out offers is pretty random, from what I can tell they are not sending them out by surname order, and I so far have only heard about one rejection, but have heard about a lot of offers, but that may just be because of who I have been speaking to. They have also been sending them out over a long period, about a week, so we should hear back from them by Tuesday at the latest would be my guess

I was predicting that Tues would be the latest too.
The offers are not in regional order too(Scots, RUK, international
Its frustrating... Dundee is literally my only hope now

Don't worry Junioh, I know it can be very frustrating but your offer is right on its way so hang in there! I have faith in you

I think so as it is unlikely that they would only hand out rejections on one given day

Hey, are you the only one you know of who got an offer so soon?

I know a few who have good stats and are pretty much guaranteed to get in and they haven't got in so

Dundee offers are purely based on interview performances tho
Stats are insignificant after the interview stage
And I think no matter how good someone is, there is no guarantee that he/she will get into Dundee...
Interviews are subjective, although Dundee is trying their hardest to minimise the subjectivity(by having two interviewers at each panel, 10 panels)
