# UNOFFICIAL MARKSCHEME Edexcel Maths Calculator paper 09/06/2016 Watch

1. (Original post by bobs your uncle1)
You're wrong. The bottom was X-3 not 3-X and so the top and bottom aren't the same and therefore don't cancel out
Exactly
2. I take it this is a higher mark scheme?

How did u factorise in the first place, quadratic equation or multiplying the x^2 coefficient and the constant?
I just knew how the question works it will want you to cancel out 3-X so I used that as my first bracket and made the second bracket work with that to get the answer

Yes mate i think so at least i put 27.75 or 28.75 so on the right lines
I got 29.25 becasue the original values were I=5(14-8.7) so the upper bound would be I=5(14.5-8.65) which comes to 29.25

The pentagon question
You had to find the size of the sides of the pentagon
Then you reconginse that the question says the two lines passing though it are reflective and the same on each side meaning the area where the bottom parts of both lines and 90 degrees and add up 108+108+90+90
May sound confusing but dont know how to send image sorry

Oops. Hopefully one of them was right.
I'm joining the people on twitter who want Colin's car to blow up.
I was a bit wtf at the metal bars on the trolley one, but I got 3 which seems to be right according to this thread.
Colins car question i put something like 42.25?or something in the 40's.25
I think you weren't meant to round up until the very end as this would change the eventual awnser
7. For the graph i did not get a curve :O
i got a zig zag
8. (Original post by megannlong)
Guys if I got 90 on the last paper what do you reckon I would need on this one to get an A*?? Don't think I did as well on this one
Safely, 80, realistically, 70
9. The question i think your reffering to is
....3
3X +6X-2

And i know that for sure as i spent too long on it and couldent got the answer
10. Anyone else get 81.5 on the last question!? I think ive done it wrong😩😩😩
11. What was question 3 again?
12. I loved today's paper
13. i got 108 for pentagon probarly got my angle rules confused

For the graph i did not get a curve :O
i got a zig zag
i got a zig zag. it went up and then down and then up again

100% of 1.8 is 1.8
45% of 1.8 is 0.81.
1.8 + 1.8(100% increase) = 3.6 + 0.81 (45% increase) = 4.41
The question didn't ask for a 145% increase though. The maximum length of his skis was 145% of his height - 1.8 being 100%, with an additional 45%.
17. Erghh i really want to see Mr Kibria's completed paper. Anyone know when he normally uploads it?
18. Did anyone else's graph look like a N
19. Did anyone get 40 on the last question?
20. Is there a PDF of the corrected paper yet? there was one for paper 1..
