Interesting to see Labour attacking, politically motivated perhaps to weaken the right of the Lib Dems.

There's nothing wrong with getting people to join TSR (indeed TSR is probably grateful) and while getting these people to vote may not be in the spirit of the law, it is within the law i suspect. At any rate so long as they are not dupes he lost anyway so it hardly matters.

This is too big for panorama, clearly it's going to be announced in the ex-queens speach.

I entirely agree. The motivations are clear as day.

I should point out that I didn't get them to vote. The only occasions I know of them voting at all is this past election.

Right everyone, sorry to be a spoilsport, but I suggest once again to drop it now. We do not yet know the outcome of the investigation, so this back and forth is pointless and has at some points become a bit personal. That is not helpful.

fair enough. Thought I'd try. I feel like i'm the only rabid Blairite in the tsr Party .
(Original post by Rakas21)
Two summers ago your party was near death and being kept alive by a Blairite (Xedi), he was fully of the leadership.. your party overlooked him by a comfortable margin from what i'd told to vote for a rabid, abrasive socialist who'd barely been in the party five minutes (so hardly loyal to Labour) who can be quoted as agreeing with the statement of purging Blairites... unfortunately if your a true Blairite then i'd be considering the soft right on here.
Let's not talk about what happened 'two summers ago' as I suspect neither the Leader, Deputy or Chair where here when that happened so its hardly reflective of the future direction of the party. Who is this rabid socialist anyway?

If Labour is to grow it needs members from all corners of the Labour movement.

My plans exactly

Ahhh, I suspected as much. She's a Socialist Party dual member so she was always going to be very left-wing. Charming person of course.

Nonetheless Stannis' input this term has been much valued by myself so he better stay aboard! lol

I'm sorry if that offended you, but I genuinely sighed when I read that you were once again fobbing off criticism as some left vs right thing which it isn't. It seems there just aren't that many right-wingers online, and if its in their best interests for this to pass then that's up to them.
They have no interests either way. You do.

You seem to be misunderstanding the word 'attack'.
There is an argument, obviously.
I'm not misunderstanding anything. You are misunderstanding me as attacking individuals, which I am not.

IP address. Time of joining. Lack of posts. You're obvious motives. Your obvious opportunity. Your obvious means. There is evidence. What's Birch supposed to do, get a spy camera on you?
I have given detailed and lengthy explanations of these signs several times, as you well know. You are ignoring them because you want the accusations to be true.

I live in a shared house with five others, we share an IP address. They both joined over two years ago so I hardly see how that impinges me, it's not as if they joined a few days before the election. Their post count is irrelevant, but what they've posted from months and years ago is relevant - makeup recommendations and questions about a brother's arrest are unlikely to be the topics of a male poster with no previous makeup recommendations and no siblings. The argument that I had a motive, opportunity and means to create these accounts falls flat on its face when this is taken into consideration. It is also a completely redundant method when used for online games. Additionally:

'Establishing the presence of these three elements is not, in and of itself, sufficient to convict beyond a reasonable doubt; the evidence must prove that an opportunity presented was indeed taken by the accused and for the crime with which he or she is charged.'

As the mods can confirm with you, I have dupe accounts, as I am entitled to. Yet the only other accounts to join the Liberal party and vote in this election from my IP address were Glyx and Lycanthrope. Why would I exploit two 'dupe' accounts but not the others for this purpose? It doesn't make sense.

These pieces of 'evidence' are dispelled by plausible explanations and are also internally inconsistent in themselves.

You're just hiding behind the fact that since we're online nothing can be proven or disproven 100% and trying to gain some kind of moral higher ground by accusing members of the House of attacking you because of your politics. Its a transparent deflection.
Several people have agreed with me. I'm not 'hiding' behind anything and your assumption that I am guilty only goes to show how partial you are.

A bad atmosphere? Even you must have acknowledged the irony in that as you typed it.
I am not responsible for this atmosphere. I am forced to rebut these accusations out of a sense of self-respect and because I know them to be untrue. You don't have to be making them, but you insist on doing so anyway despite having such a poor knowledge of the situation.

I'm not looking for grounds of conviction but grounds for suspicion - which there clearly is. Wether you've used dupes or not it seems obvious from what you yourself have said that you gained an unfair advantage over your colleagues.

But your right, I don't know enough and can't be bothered to debate this any further - seeing as apparently being left-wing invalidates anything I might say as wishful witch-hunting, regarding my still true comments that I hope this is all a misunderstanding. Your accusations and defensiveness make it growingly hard for me to believe that.

As per Kitts suggestion, this is me dropping it.

Would you like us to legislate such that some TP would magically manifest before you?
Yes for the future, it can only happen again, this time I was lucky but next time, who knows?
(Original post by InnerTemple)
TP?

What is this TP you speak of?

EDIT - Toilet paper... obviously...
(Original post by mobbsy91)
Don't worry! It took me a while as well lol!
How do you both not know TP?

No, that isn't obvious to me at all.

It isn't the mere fact that you're left wing. It's the fact that you've assumed I'm guilty, ignored my explanations and pushed as hard as you can the idea that I have done wrong.

Couldn't possibly be due to how irritating this discussion is, like a fog of midges that won't go away.

As per Kitts suggestion, this is me dropping it.
