Yess a contrasting subject not two.. With competition levels at what they are it would be advised to take maths, especially to aid chemistry and even biology.
No! It's a common myth; have a look here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...n_Myth_Busting

And chemistry A-Level is fine without A-Level maths, as is biology (you only really need GCSE maths in both). It's only at uni where you really need maths for chemistry.

Are there any ways I convert these into the actual marks I achieved?

    7 A*'s, 4 A's and a B... couldn't be much happier

(Well, you could always change that B to an A but meh!)

Would be interesting to see if Oxbridge accepted those kinds of results though :/

I got 3A*'s and 7As but my school don't want me to do biology A-level as I 'only' got an A!? Apparently statistically I'm not likely to get higher than a D, so annoyed!

Hey everyone I got 7 A*/A grades today for my GCSEs (including English and Science) along with 2 Bs (one being Maths) and a C. Would this be good enough for me to apply to dentistry?

They require chemistry and one other laboratory based science subject. Maths and further maths are not accepted as a combination though, so they wouldn't count as separate subjects. Check out our A Level medicine requirements page for more info!

urm, for ocr triple science physics c/a, my teacher gave me 60 out of 64, which should be 92 UMS or something, and he didn't send it off for moderation (only a few are sent) and now when i have got my results back, I have got 83 UMS, which is an A. How is this possible? Only three student's work were sent off to the exam board? I'm like 10 whole UMS's away from achieving A* in physics, and if this was 90UMS i would have got it I'm really surprised. Any help?
