Did anyone read about the French legislation the other day that businesses now have to offer their wasted food to charities? Seemed pretty interesting step, but the fines you'd get for not doing it are ridiculous.

here

but they don't state the fine amounts uhh

Those with a footprint of 4,305 sq ft (400 sq m) or more will have to sign contracts with charities by July next year or face penalties including fines of up to €75,000 (£53,000) or two years in jail.

Yep, I completely agree with it and they should do it anyway so the fines I don't really mind.

The fines are still pretty extortionate (but then again the shops have to be fairly large which I suppose is...fairer) and the 2 years in jail is ludicrous, but definitely a step in the right direction.

I consider myself a good Englishman, doubly disappointed in the French for at least three reasons:
1) Much like the Amerians, they forget that at least part of the country is, in reality, English;
2) The pretenders they did have on the throne they got rid of;
3) When we were kind enough to give them a new pretender they got rid of them too.
I consider myself insulted. Good Day. :getmecoat:

Sometimes you have to be harsh...
I believe that in France you can be jailed for not helping someone out like trying to stop a robbery too which is interesting.

If the people are making massive profits then money doesn't concern them... Jail time is better.

Interesting survey findings that Jews, Sikhs and Hindu's all put the Tories into Downing Street this election.

Well, based on stereotypes can you say the Jews are surprising?
