It's going to be a long night. It usually takes me ages to get to sleep as it is, but now I've got a personal statement to edit, plus five revision posters - and I've given myself 7AM as a deadline, otherwise I know I won't do them.

Oh, pity me.

This is an 'insomnia society', not a ****** 'LOL CAFFEINE!!11 NEED MY FIX 2 STAY AWKE' one.

But then everyone in here seems to be staying up by choice to do work, so **** you all. Real insomnia ****ing sucks.

Chill. Read the OP.

I have real insomnia and being awake most hours does come in handy during exam time

7 hours sleep, over 3 nights... Do I count? Well, tough ****... you guys are lumbered with me anyway...
Interestingly enough, every female on my Mum's side of the family suffers really badly with insomnia. Annoyingly, though... When I do sleep, I always sleep through my alarm. Always.

For the life of me i just can not sleep... Argh i'm going nuts! I have the odd doze for an hour here and there but i actually can't get a decent nights sleep...

I might as well do permanent night shifts

Meh, gonna crack on with some uni work while i'm still up.. might as well do something constructive :p:

Apparently, most people can get to sleep after seven minutes of lying in bed (or so I read somewhere). I really find that hard to believe. It usually takes me about two hours or so to sleep, and I can usually only do that if I listen to a podcast whilst lying there.

You'd have to be pretty bloody tired, but I do find it believable. The only reason it takes me about 2 hours to get to sleep is because I just can't switch off, my brain's just constantly thinking for some random reason

I had just under two hours sleep last night. I couldn't get to sleep at all for ages. I woke up with a massive headache. FML

I spy lots of new names in here

I've been a rather rubbish member for a while so I apologise. Final year of Uni = no fun. Currently on teaching practice too so I'm in school 8am-5pm if not later everyday, then doing assignments and planning when I get home. It's good in a way because the children are tiring me out so I am sleeping a bit earlier than normal.

How is everyone else?

I didn't know there was a society for this.

Yeah, I'm not really an insomniac, I'm just nocturnal. But if I try to sleep at night like a normal person, my nocturnalness manifests itself as insomnia, so I guess that counts. :ahee:
