Would you ever accept variations on the A*AAB offer on results day? Such as A*A*BB or AAAA?

If you have recieved an offer there can be a small degree of flexibility at confirmation. It will depend on how much you have missed your offer by and if there is any extenuating information. If there is, you should get that information to us, prior to the publication of A2 results

Does anyone go to the Open Day and what does it about?
I received the invitation letter of going to Open Day this morning but the Open Day is TODAY!
That's why I am not able to come... The journey time is 4 hours and even I arrive, the talk should be over already...

Yeah, they rejected me at some point in the end of March. Apparently my personal statement wasn't up to scratch!

I cannot give exact numbers but the application process is extremely competitive, hence the high entry requirements.
Do you take into account school background when looking at GCSEs?
And do you take into consideration A2 predictions and UMS scores? (If included)

I'm doing four A2's and I have an offer of A*AA and a A at at AS level. Because I got 4 A's at AS, do I just need to achieve A*AA? It seems strange, as on this thread and on the website it states those who do 4 A-Levels will get a A*AAB offer.

Remember your GCSEs are not the sole deciding factor, we also take AS grades and A2 predictions into account, along with personal statements and school references. The school where you studied has no influence on the offer and we do not discriminate. However, we do of course make use of the school reference, and any information regarding provided by your school will be considered alongside the other parts of the UCAS form.

Yes we take A2 predictions into consideration, and yes, we will use all information on the application to make our decision (including UMS scores if provided).

The offer is correct, and yes, you are correct. The offers are individual specific, however, it is quite standard for us to make the A*AAa offer when students have the 4th AS, more often than not it causes less confusion.

    Hello !

I currently hold an offer for Msc Economics and International Financial Economics and I'm an international student.

I've a doubt regarding the accommodation let period at PG halls.

Amongst the 4 PG halls, only Tocil offers a 40 week let period whereas the other three which are actually my preferences, i.e, Lakeside, Heronbank and Claycroft offer a 50 week let period only.

The problem is that I don't intend to stay at Warwick campus during summer vacations (July - Sept' 14).

So Is it necessary to stay at Warwick during that time which is meant for Dissertation prep then?

If not, then is there any way for me to stay at halls of my preference for 40 week let period ?

I have really low GCSEs by usual Warwick standard (1 A*, 6 A's, 2 B's) and the A* is in Media
I however come from a very low rated school, and even with these grades came out with the overall best grades in my year. This was also during the time shortly after a sibling passed away and during the time another immediate family member had died. How much would my relatively poor GCSE results effect my application, esp. when weighted with what was going on at the time.
Also how should I inform Warwick that this happened? Extenuating Circumstances or on my Reference?

Secondly how much does Warwick worry about retakes? I am likely to finish this year with ACC (Economics, Biology, Chemistry), It has however been a very rough year for me, and I will retake 1 module from each (Chemistry and Biology) to get my AS in those to an A.

The overall product (should) be A*A*A* in Maths (Accelerated, AS self taught), Economics and Biology, with additional AS grades in Chemistry (A grade after a module resit) and Further Maths (not too sure on a grade yet, picking it up next year as with Maths, not started learning yet either). Hopefully, however I will come out with an A grade.

EDIT - I will be applying after A2 grades are finalised (after I finish upper sixth).

    Hi,

If I got AAAB for AS (a B in maths) but still got predicted an A for maths for A2 would it weaken my chances of getting into Warwick? Also I got 4A*s 8As and 2Bs at GCSE.

    Thanks
