A big bid by Arsenal standards could be ~£8m tbh.

Wengers philosophy is to spend minimal amounts of money and buy low rated players to build them up to become superstars. This process takes years to achieve. We are getting fustrated as we are not winning anything but in 3 to 4 years time, most of the team will be at their peak age e.g. fabregas and wilshire. However, I feel that Arsenal need a goalkeeper, centre back and a proper striker (not someone crap like bendnter or chamakh). Although these two players have scored vital goals in the past, they are not consistent.

We also need a leader e.g. Lehmann and big ol sol. When arsenal were in the position of winning the quadrouple, we collapsed. If we had tony adams or someone like that, that would not have happened.

So Arsene, GET YOUR CHEQUE BOOK OUT!

    Yet another one.

We categorically don't need a goalkeeper when we have Szczesny.

You could say we need better backup, but then Chelsea have Turnbull + Hilario while Utd have Lindegaard + Kuszczak.

I agree that we need a better backup striker, but Chamakh's poor form is due to lack of game-time more than anything.

I've said it more than enough already - yes, we should have won the Carling Cup, but we were never favourites for the Barcelona tie, nor playing away at a United side that haven't lost at home all season.

Some people need to take a step back.

The reason why Chelsea and United (and most teams) have pretty poor back-up goalkeepers is because it is very rare for a first choice goalkeeper to get injured for an extended period of time. As any minor injury can just be played with.

Yet for some reason Arsenal have gone through 4? keepers this season basically due to injuries forcing Wengers hand.

Something must be wrong in training to create so many injuries.

Arsenal after West Brom and Spanish superstar Borja Valero. I reckon it would be a cracking signing and great replacement for Fabregas. What you guys think?

He was actually only **** during the winter. Since Jan he's been alright.

Denilson, Rosicky, and Diaby, on the other hand, have been ****house all season.

Mixed feelings; although maybe not buying reina was a blessing in disguise...
How was it a blessing in disguise when you've had so many keeper mistakes cost you cups and points this season?

Its a nice way to attempt to appease fans, whose STs are going up in price despite a lack of major signings. 'Oh, we were in for Reina'. Just like you were in for Ronaldo and Vidic......

That's not a new story. They were talking to Bob Wilson on 5live prior to the Chelsea game in December and he said that we'd failed to sign a top prem keeper and all but confirmed it was Reina.

£500 a bag of maltesers and some tickets to a Boyzone gig tbh.

Hopefully Wilshere 'picks up a knock' just before the tournament.

I agree, it's something to do with the coaches and the style of training we have.

      Too many injuries...

I think the Szczesny one was just a freak accident, he caught the ball on the tips of his fingers which is incredibly painful and explains the dislocation.

Carlo wants him on the King's Road, apparently.

Rumour is that Maldini is coming out of retirement too.

Reckon Wilshere is more likely to be captain in the long run. Just seems more the type.

I hope Arsene makes a huge fuss about this. Jack will have no rest all season and it's ridiculous. Clearly not in his interest to play, surely the England set up must realise that it's not worth it?
