I don't understand the triangle how do you know the other side is x aswell

    Posted from TSR Mobile
    Oh lol
If you look at the top it's 10 cm
    Bottom it's 8cm
    Question says they are parallel
    10-8 = 2
So each side is 1cm hence x

I only did three because I don't really have anytime,
    I suggest you do a, b and c
I think doing the soloman papers helped for me when I did C1

    2(x-2)(x^2+2x+4)

    which factorises out to 2x^3 + 4x^2 - 4x - 16 (nice try though)

Only because you can't factorise it doesn't mean no one else can. Don't act smart when you clearly can't factorise a simple cubic.

    Isn't the answer (x-2)(2x^2+4x+8)

And can also be written as 2(x-2)(x^2+2x+4)

How confident are you guys feeling for the exam tomorrow? I'm so scared I'm going to make the same silly mistakes I made in C1

You can solve it, easily, but the only factorisation possible is to take the 2 out

I'm sure you can do them ! Have you been practising enough? You stilll have time to do some C2 past papers and if you don't know how to do a question try examsolutions.net , it's very helpful. Goodluck tomorrow and in your D1 exam xx

Has anyone else tried the June 2014 (R) paper, i thought it was extremely difficult compared to other papers
Hey. I just tried the paper and I also thought it was way harder than the others. I particularly hated question 9a. I don't believe you had to find the area of a triangle, semi circle and rectangle add them up and then awkwardly rearrange to get it in the form they wanted all for 3 marks! You usually get 2 marks just for finding an area of a sector.
