It will be different, not in a good way and he still won't be able to simply snap his fingers and say "world peace, tax dodging gone, Britain is a socialist utopia" and it happens.

I don't think anyone will expect overnight change, but it would be a start to a very different approach to things such as tax avoidance and evasion, among other issues as well

So he's going to entirely stop trying to tackle avoidantand evasion? Or is he going to make the promise every government makes and none actually follow through with to simplify the tax code?

Well I imagine with the economic team the shadow chancellor has it would be a different approach to challenging to the tax code, and more aggression on tackling tax avoidance and evasion.

I suppose it will be "abolish the tax code, all we need is one line 'all your stuff is ours now'"

Damn Fez, I didn't know you were at Cambridge, thank you for enlightening us several times, being so humble about it, whilst you offloaded the blame for everything not right on other people whilst engaging in autofellatio.

As an aside, as if we need any more reason to #voteleave, Ken Livingston has claimed he will leave the country if we vote to leave, then again, I'm still waiting for all the people who said a Tory government would be so bad they're all leaving.

I must agree - the AdHoc article certainly is an extremely optimistic outlook on what happened this last term - whilst I agree it hasn't been as bad as the term before, it certainly hasn't been great... The budget was never just set for January, but kept on being delayed multiple times (you didn't bother including that in the article Fez...), there was nigh on no activity from any of the Cabinet for a long time, and then a small surge right at the end of the term...

Didn't even talk about the surge at the end, too busy talking about me myself and I and blaming GP for the previous lib lab government not doing anything.

We said mid term, and January since the start of the term.

Also, I hardly call 2 SOIs and a Departmental review in the first 6 weeks or so, nigh or no activity.

You make out that the government was inactive though, it really wasn't. We also have energy infrastructure that will last 50 years thanks to the Energy Secretary.

Right, so there were 3 items in the first 6 weeks, then very little of substance for the other 17

Ahhh, so the time that the government was active, was all down to you... of course... Maybe you should've written the AdHoc article instead of Fez...

I wasn't saying that. Just that while I was there, we were active.

So, take that on further, and you're saying that when you left, they weren't active. If a government isn't active, it can't be a good government, and so therefore, you're saying that when you left, the government were ****.

I didn't say that either, they got the housing policy passed which was good. Didn't get the finance bill passed, but that's probably a good thing as it's probably about 5 years to early for it. There weren't that many bills, but there was a focus on departments putting out SoIs and a Departmental review, to which I contributed 2 SoIs (or 3, including my statement on storm desmond) and 2 departmental reviews. I also contributed a number of bills, and left with a few that were 99% complete. I'm not saying that the government were ****, they had a lot to deal with and I think it was all dealt with very well.

So much focus that most failed, and where it was done it was practically the budget copied and pasted and not corrected.

Just to add to what james has said is he is saying while he was in governmnt it was active, obviously he can't comment with as much knowledge to the time after he left the government.

I can agree with both fez and yourself and jammy to points, I feel fez was very high in his praise, and we could have done more, especially on bills rather than a strong focus on SoIs as the way to get everything done instead. I think this government was one with a lot of issues, namely all of our chancellors disappearing at some point, the disappearance of the liberal leader, the resignation of Ray as PM to try his hand at running for speakership and the GP/Saorise scandal which sent Labour into a brief period of reflection, having to hold another chair election, and with Fez changing our internal party policy on some issues, as he highlighted in the article.

I don't deny we could have been better, I had at least another SoI I wanted to release, and am hoping to at least help on some bills going forward into the future as an individual, and I am sure every member of the government has things they wish they could have done more on, but I absolutely refute the the tone some members take about this government, and how it has supposedly been a 'failure' despite having an extremely satisfactory coalition where we all worked together as a government, not as two different parties to get things done, and I hope both my own party and the liberals don't mind me saying I loved working in this government, I think some of the liberal I have had the chance to talk to a little more than others are nice, intelligent and thoughtful people

Would agree that it wasn't a total failure... If it was, what would we call the term before this one...
