can you do AS latin without doing gcse latin (from scratch) ?
If you learn all the vocab, endings etc yes. But that's going to take a long time. Also you have set text which is like literature analysis stuff. I don't think you can tbh.

I cannot see Economics as an a-level under your list of subjects! I surely can not be the only one?!

    My subjects are:

    Chemistry: AQA
    English Literature: AQA
    Economics: Edexcel

There's a class or two doing from scratch at my college, but they're expected to put in extra hours from their frees. Usually they do just as well as those who've been studying it all through secondary.

They're for a level and you get them next year after results day but don't think about it now! Your hard work determines your predicted grades!

Hey guys, quick question ! @@@@

Looking back now at GCSE's how far would you agree with this statement.
"'Teachers teach you how to pass exams, not how to have success.'' It could also be applied to A level teachers -> University education.

Deffinitely for GCSE, I never got more interested in the subjects I was taking for the 5years, not really inspired enough to think about success or the future. It was more thinking 'knowing more will get me through this exam' all year without really knowing why I wanted to do that. Rather than 'I hope I can do as best as I can so I can continue onto do more of this thing im enjoying atm' -no motivation really.
Maybe its a bit too soon for my opinion on a-level but so far the teachers have talked a lot about how we use what were learning in real life, who uses it, how important it is, and talk about stuff like problems people have that we have the opportunity to try and solve in the future. Not sure how to explain but yeah maybe my opinion on the teaching will change closer to exam time

Totally agree, time after time I asked teachers questions and the response was almost always 'don't worry about that, it's not on the exam.' Completely ridiculous.
