Perfumes were discouraged by a lot
Ah i see, well i just thought because i wouldnt want my boyfriend to get me clothes in case i didnt like it and if it didn't fit right and i had to return it. Your best bet is probably something that doesnt require a specification, like perfume, or maybe get her a designer purse/bag (diesel, bench or whatever you've seen her wear).

At least go and look around in a department store like debenhams or house of fraser or something...last resort could be to treat her to a day out to let her choose something nice (don't be a cheapskate) and a meal.

I like looking at ASOS.com and monsoon.com to get an idea of styles and then looking for usually (MUCH :p:) cheaper alternatives on the high street (I usually find the shoes for at least lower than half the price on these sites :yep:). I think new look and h&m have quite nice reasonably priced shoes.

Another option: maybe buy her one of the clothing items (the jacket or the shoes, which can go with many outfits on their own) and a piece of jewellery separately? Maybe a nice charm bracelet/necklace.
How about these two:

Don't get her clothes, she may not like them, they may not fit, etc. Bad.

Why don't you buy a little craft kit and make her a bracelet with little alphabet squares saying (for example) "K.T. loves T.S." or something. That's cute! One of my exes once made me a necklace with a heart with my initials on it and I loved it. Girls like effort.

...I think it's cute but not cute in the way that i would want that as a birthday present...I would be secretly disappointed if that's all i got.

Well if that's all I got then I guess, but I'd be more disappointed that my boyfriend got me something I specifically asked not to have. From the sounds of the OP I'd be happy he remembered. (No offence OP!)
