Mine = The Scientist - Coldplay, and Mad World - Gary Jules.

In your opinion, what are the most beautiful lyrics you know of?
The original 'Mad World' is actually by Tears for Fears. It's really different to the Gary Jules version, so it's hard to compare the two. (But I like the Tears for Fears version much more :P)

I know, first time I heard that everything stopped. No mush just genuine love. I know there is a story there as well as the guy that wrote it has some issues playing it live.
There is just something magical about that band and their songs. They're like poetry.

I agree. If I ever play live again it is on the list. I just need someone who can sing to do it justice.

That song is just a description of love. Not the good times or the jumping each other silly. The sacrifice just to help something into the dark

Try youtube for Nick Cave and Into My Arms. If you like Death Cab that might also appeal.

    Coldplay - We Never Change

I wanna live life and never be cruel.
I wanna live life and be good to you.

And I wanna fly and never come down.
And live my life and have friends around.

We never change, do we? no, no
    We never learn, do we?

So I wanna live in a wooden house.

I wanna live life and always be true.
I wanna live life and be good to you.

And I wanna fly and never come down.
And live my life and have friends around.

We never change, do we? No, no
    We never learn, do we?

So I wanna live in a wooden house,
where making more friends would be easy.

Oh, and I don´t have a soul to save.
Yes, and I sin every single day.

    We never change, do we?
    We never learn, do we?

So I wanna live in a wooden house,
Where making more friends would be easy.
I wanna live where the sun comes out ...

My favourite is Opeth- The Drapery Falls
'Spiralling to the ground below like autumn leaves left in the wake to fade away'

One of the best lines in any song, ever.

Paul Simon penned some lovely songs. As an example (and also of how well Art sang them)

    What a dream I had:
    Pressed in organdy;
    Clothed in crinoline of smoky burgundy;
    Softer than the rain.
    I wandered empty streets
    Down past the shop displays.
    I heard cathedral bells
    Tripping down the alley ways,
    As I walked on.

And when you ran to me
Your cheeks flushed with the night.
We walked on frosted fields of juniper and lamplight,
    I held your hand.
And when I awoke and felt you warm and near,
I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears.
    Oh I love you, girl.
    Oh, I love you
    .

You Are the Moon by the Hush Sound is my favourite to this day.

Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark
Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms
Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel all alone?
The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone

You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier
All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas
The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe

I will bring a mirror, so silver, so exact
So precise and so pristine, a perfect pane of glass
I will set the mirror up to face the blackened sky
You will see your beauty every moment that you rise
