When i worked at odeon, they told us the film companies get most of the ticket money and the cinemas make their money from food sales.

Popcorn used to come in these giant metre high bags that looked like santa's sacks. Each bag was worth 22p... then we'd sell it at £3.50 a portion

A few months ago I got so ridiculously sick of the prices that I made my own microwave popcorn to take to the cinema and hid it in my bag. Such a rebel :wink: Sometimes we just go to the Co-Op down the road beforehand and get chocolate or something though :smile:

Airports are similarly ridiculous, my friends and I went to a Greek Island over summer and were starving waiting for our flight home... I got charged 15 euros for 2 small bottled drinks and a packet of crisps :frown:
