I want to study English Lit with Creative Writing at either Birmginam, Warwick, Kent, Bristol, or Durham.
I'm applying for Birmingham and Warwick for the same course this year - also UEA, you should have a look, it's got one of the best Lit + CW courses in the country!

Whilst I've got higher GCSEs, I don't think it even matters. I know plenty of people who did better than me at GCSE, all A*s etc, but did worse at A level. From what I can gather, GCSEs carry very little weight as long as the rest of your application is sound. Instead of worrying over a set of perfectly good grades, work really hard towards your A levels, as nearly all the requirements went up this year for English with Creative writing - it's a very competitive course. (Birmingham now wants AAA, wouldn't be surprised if Warwick raised to A*AA, UEA are thinking about raising to AAA-A*AA.)

Good luck OP, try not to let it worry you!

Thanks I've just looked at the UEA site, and the course does look really good. Lots of people on here have said I need to stop worrying, which truth be told I was naively ignoring all along... But yeah, thanks for the confidence boost!
