Yes - let's just go with your view of what is right and distrubute money as such.
And why shouldn't we? I don't believe in moral relativism as grounds for anything so severe military action, but if we don't have the faith to advocate our morals in what we do abroad, how can we uphold them in Britain?

Choosing which countries to give foreign aid to is our perogative - why should we support despots who perpetrate human rights abuses?

In fact, the whole case for foreign aid as it stands at present is flawed - most damages the infrastructure of the recipient country, props up dictators, and barely filters down to those really in poverty.

Depriving them of aid won't necessarily make a difference since the various dictators and oligarchies that run these countries wouldn't give a toss if half their populace died of starvation due to lack of aid.
Much of the time most of the aid doesn't get through to the people anyway. And when it does, it can damage local infrastructure - when Britain uses aid money to dump thousands of tonnes of free rice in a country, local agriculture cannot compete, and its through issues like this that aid often causes long-run harm.

    *prerogative

And "human rights abuses" really begs the question there. But fair enough. You have a reasoned belief, I cannot argue with that.
