Doesn't really matter to me unless the person's got so many bags / is so large that I can't really sit down - but that's hardly ever the case.

If the bus is really full I'll just lean on the bag rail at the front until the next stop.

When I usually get on the bus it's fairly quite so there are seats free. Otherwise I'll sit next to someone who doesn't look scary or moody or drunk or any young kids. Oh and if there's a decent looking girl on the bus I'll try to get a prime seat for viewing :perv:

I usually prefer to sit next to another girl rather than a guy for some reason. I'd usually try and sit near the front upstairs and as long as the person doesn't smell or is drunk an I guess if the person not too fat could they'd be taking up half the seat. It happend to me before but I was on the inside and I couldn't move as I got pushed right against the wall.

I like standing up on public transport. You can see what everyone is up to much better.

Other than that, as long as they don't look like they stink, i'll park my butt anywhere.

I try not to sit next to fatties, old people, children, and strangely looking people.

Just someone who doesn't look odd i.e. grumpy, drunk, loud etc. and who doesn't take up too much space or have their bags on the seat next to them.

Two thirds of the way back on the bottom deck. Always. No idea why.
ditto. i think its got to do with how we are generally as people. Not compleeeetely unsocial so as to want to sit at the back of the bus all alone even if the bus is empty and not outward enough to want to see and be eyed by every single person that gets on the bus.

No one that is smoking, drinking, looks scuzzy, takes up the whole two-seat by themselves, has loads of bags... I prefer to stand.

It's more a question of who I avoid. I avoid sitting next to a fat person quite obviously and anyone I look at and think they don't look clean e.g. a drunk old smelly white man.

Some may not like me saying this but ... I wouldn't sit next to an African or Indian freshy (i.e. they look they haven't been in the UK long) man because in my experience they don't smell too good.

I do like to sit next someone who's got their bag on the seat because they don't want anyone sitting next to them.
