"How do you feel you would contribute to social aspects here?"

Mind went blank, I panicked, and just went;

"... Rock-climbing."

Sure, why not?

Yay :excited:
I'm famous!
Tesco interviewer - 'Name a situation where you've had to work with someone else to teach them something'

Me - 'When I was 14 I helped my sister with her German GCSE revision.'

Tesco interviewer - 'Oh, so are you fluent then? How long have you been learning it?'

Me - (Knowing that made no sense) 'Oh, since I was... uhmm... 14... :/'

Tesco interviewer - 'So how did you teach your sister German for her GCSE if you'd only just started learning it yourself?'

Me - :erm:
(phone interview)
Interviewer: Describe yourself in three words?
(this caught me off guard)
Me: umm errmmm diligent
Interviewer: ok
Me: malleable, and ermm.....ermmmmm..how about err... charming (nervous laugh)

Complete silence on other end of phone.

Interview for English at Oxford University:
'So what do you enjoy in terms of poetry?'
'Um...nothing...in...particular...'
Everything I'd ever read turned into a bottomless pit of BLANK.
My mate was going for a job in warehouse, nothing to intellectually taxing, just donkey work, packing and box shifting.

At the interview, the interviewer asked him "How did you prepare for this interview today?"

His reply - "Well, it's a warehouse job, isn't it? I polished my shoes and ironed my shirt."

Once I had an interview to become a cocktail waiter at a nightclub.

Interviewer: What's your favorite cocktail?

Me: A crisp, refreshing pint of Carlsberg.

Needless to say, I didn't get the job. I did get some work at a pub though...
*First ever job interview at Clarks*

Them: So, what's in fashion at the moment?

Me: ... I hear.. shoes are quite fashionable..

Haha, reminds me of this.
Oh, I kinda told the interviewer that I had an offer to do a funded MSc 5 months later.

You know, just around the time where they would've trained me up and I'd actually be useful?

Care home job:

Interviewer: So why did you apply for this job?

Me: Well I believe the elderly relate to animals quite well

-interviewer laughs- Are you calling OAP's animals?

Me: I mean, they are both dependant on help and support, both need help being changed, feeding etc.

-cringe-

I still got the job :colone:

I once had a whole interview where my answers were along the lines of "no, but..."

Do you have any experience of giving presentations to large groups?
No, but at work I regularly do to small groups.

And that kind of thing.

Strangely, I was successful, and I think it's because I tried to give relevant examples rather than just saying an outright no.

My first ever interview at Varsity:

Q: What animal would you be?
A: Err... A cat.
Q: Why?
A: Because... They are lovely... and feminine?

A: I just want some money, really.

I know someone who used a similar approach to one of her interviews. When asked why she wanted the job she replied "well to be honest, I'm skint". Her managers later told her that she got the job on account of her honesty
