China cooperates greatly with ASEAN, and is making great strides towards being a free market.
Hmmm, for a minute there México completely forgot that China was China
Yet you are still a commie

México is calling China a commie. México has only recently made the acquaintance of Nightowl, and as such feels it rude to judge on Nightowl's loyalties so rashly.

Malaysia has no qualms about communism seeing that we were once a communist nation. We take our stand firmly on the fact that the balance of power in ASEAN would shift toward China should she join.

Besides, isn't this RIP already? :P

If México believes rightly, wasn't ASEAN founded to help stop the growth of comunism? Wouldn't this be slightly impossible, what with China still being comunist and therefore not promoting total freemarketism?
However, that was back in the days when Communism was believed to be a real threat to the world. Now, people behave less rashly when reacting to communism, and it is no longer spreading, so in effect, the ASEAN is pointless if to stop the growth of Communism is it's aim.

Greece supports China moving into the ASEAN, as it gives stability to other less established countries - and any form of unity which benefits people regarding wealth, safety and happiness - should be supported greatly by any other country.

Germany supports China's candidacy for a seat in the ASEAN (although it recognises that its support has no value in the ASEAN). It believes that although power may shift towards China, having such a powerful nation (holds SC seac etc.) could ensure that the voice of the ASEAN is heard.

Greece also feels that should China join, the influence that the ASEAN has on current-affairs would certainly increase.
