Yeah, incredibly long hours for a fairly middle-of-the-road salary, and the chance to live in a flat above a rat-infested house.

Doesn't the PM get a fairly good benefits package though?

Most people just see the salary (which is, to be fair, middle of the road) but there are other perks too.

Former Prime Ministers tend not to be short of the odd million either. Once you've left office, that's when the big bucks start rolling in for speaking fees, consultancies, lobbying etc
