    Normally the pathways in the brain that register the bladder is full aren't properly developed. Also small bladders and stress can cause bedwetting. (Along with alcohol, for older people).

    They don't realise it's happening. Like in the day, people who have really bad incontinence don't realise they're about to leak until they do. Although for the ones that happen 24/7, there are many different types, like stress incontinence, urge, combination, and a few others.
