Why the hell does it even matter? The past is the past. As long as she's happy with me then what is the problem?

As a guy who's a kissless 28 year old virgin, I almost certainly would. She could have been with 2000 people, pornstar esque, and I still wouldn't care. If she enjoys sex, is STD free then whats wrong with it? We only live life once and she can get all that sex, then fair play to her. That's what sex is, its enjoying and pleasurable just like taking alcohol or whatever you love doing.

But if she was willing to commit in a relationship and be faithful from then on, absolutely no problems.

Now the chances of a girl like that dating someone like me? A virgin? 0.000001%

I love that most of the guys answering this are probably 17 year old virgins.
Why do you love that? Can't they have opinions too? Are you belittling them for being virgins at 17?

    To be honest it depends...

If she's shagged so many guys she's either a munter with self confidence issues.....

    or

    Pretty good at sex....

Either way I presume it's most likely gonna be the first one.

No I wouldn't - if they are my age they either must have had:
-lots of ONS (I don't respect that)
-had lots of short-term relationships (wouldn't want to be a victim of one)
-have horrible personalities so every guy dumped her, hence why the relationships have been short-term
-started having sex at an extremely young age

nothing to which i'd be attracted to.

In the real world; beyond this lovely (albeit weirdly sexually conservative) forum, nobody really cares if you've slept with three men or thirty men. As long as you're healthy/clean, honest, respectful, and loyal.

20 in, say, a month... sure. But how old would the girl be when you marry her, how many boyfriends would she have had, etc? Say she's 25 when you marry her, and she's been sexually active since the age of 16... does 20 still seem like such a high number?

    *shrug*

Personally, I think it's good if a person has had a decent number of sexual partners before getting married. They've had the chance to get various 'experiences', and might know more about what they want out of a relationship.

I wouldn't marry a girl even if she has had only one previous sex partner
I would want it to be my first time with my wife

    Sigh.

Once you actually live in the real world and get past the age of 21 you realise no one really gives a monkeys how many people you sleep with.

If you're too nervous to talk, my advice would be to take every option you can get with an attractive girl unless you happen to be some rich good looking artist or something

    Fair enough

I can see where you're coming from with wanting to be exclusive but if you could make yourself happy with a partner who had had previous partners you would vastly increase your chances.

Only a rockstar or at the least a rich good looking success story has the kind of choice you're talking about

Matters a lot to me, but context is everything. It's not the number, it's what the number means.

I'm going to post anon because I know some people on here.

But in my EXPERIENCE, not what I've heard or read, here are some of the issues:

    1. Blasts from the past - a higher number, more exs/guys who got lucky once looking to start something again. Trust becomes an issue. In my view, exs are exs - leave the past in the past. I just don't want to deal with this again.
    2. "Just friends" - most guys will in the number or at least some will probably be in the friendship group. Another round of awkwardness I don't want to deal with. Further, if "slept with" x, then how many did she do other stuff with?
    3. The bizarre concept of monogamy - no one forces us to be monogamous. There's no law against it. We choose to do it. We opt for effective celibacy outside our relationships. But we all get curious and we all look around. If there is temptation or if you have the ability to sleep with someone else, it's easier to cheat. You can sleep with 200 people and be loyal, for sure, but loyalty is the most important thing in a relationship. And there's no foolproof way to test if someone will cheat beyond a confession or seeing it with your own eyes. The idea of monogamy is based on the idea that sex is special and that it should only be had between two people who have the right emotional connection for each other. You can argue about that, but that's my view - and if you sleep with x number of people, sex does lose its value to be special with one person imo.
    4. Emotional issues/insecurity/projection -- I've had girlfriends with high numbers who projected feelings from previous exs onto me, so they have fallen deeper for me right away, but it's been based on having the comfort they experienced from previous relationships; ultimately the relationships failed because they didn't like me for me.
