It's unfortunate that they are dying, but it certainly isn't Britain's problem.
I agree that it is a terrible and atrocious situation but simply telling Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia to let the whole lot in wouldn't solve any problems. It would create problems for the host countries and at the same time it isn't solving the actual crisis in Myanmar. Why isn't anyone in South East Asia pushing for Myanmar to recognize these people as citizens of Burma and stopping the persecution. I guarantee you that some overly liberal person without a brain cell will come waltzing in here in a moment saying its entirely the likes of Malaysia etc. to let all of them in without thinking of the consequences nor seeking to resolve the problem at hand. That's the real issue with all kinds of illegal immigration. If we just got off our butts as wealthy countries and sought to aid in really developing these places economies and improving their human rights, none of this would be an issue. You'd be left with people happy on all sides and normal levels of migration would go on and nobody would have a problem. Fact of the matter is that most of South East Asia's countries just aren't prepared at all to deal with such a large number of people. They should help the most persecuted and threatened of the people like women and children as a priority and provide them with aid. If they do have to take them in, set up a large sectioned off refugee camp to keep them in until some resolution to the crisis is found.

Massacre of Rohingya. You seem very focused on in attempting to dehumanize the rohingya Muslims.

And your statement about the headless corpses, from that it's quite clear that you're out to hate Muslims and spread as many lies as possible. You'll believe anything people tell you about them. Some people in the comments section in the video called for Muslims to wiped out. And other bigoted things. They remind me of your posts here.

    Nope, you have no clue.

Sorry but go read up on it. If you don't even understand why someone is mentioning muslims then you shouldn't be commented on this issue. Go read and learn. I'm not going to waste my time.

I don't know whether that is true or not. I'm not a fan of the burmese but things like this need to verified.
I live in malaysia where we adopted an amount of rohingya refugees. I know what these people are like far better than you. You only care about muslims, doesn't matter if they are good ot bad people.

Yes we all know that the persecution of the Rohingyas is based on religious hatred. What you suggested is that the responses of people on this thread are also based on religious hatred. Which is the bit I find ridiculous and paranoid.
    I think it's racial hatred too. They're a black-looking people.

Tragic. No idea what to do about the situation, but on a side note, Britain really needs to stop handing out any aid to ****hole racist countries like Burma.

It is disgusting that someone on here is trying to racially ridicule these poor people. Though we may not be able to help all of these people which is a great shame but thats simply how it is. We just can't cope with that. That aside though, its incredibly cruel to pass judgement on these people based on their race. They're human beings. Though we can't necessarily save and aid every last one, we should still treat them with compassion.

I think the response of one person(not you) is certainly based on that. He seems so obsessed with making the rohingya look like monsters. Even the video he shared - it's full of comments of like "Muslims need to be wiped out".

Just adding 2 and 2 together tbh.
I did not see the comments because I embedded it from an external site. Nonetheless I never made it a point or hint that anyone needs to be killed. You can go through my post again. They say people seek validation for what they believe I wonder what are you doing reading those comments.

We have taken in a small amount rohingya refugees in the past. It didn't end well and we have burmese expatriate or activists working here. Taking in more will only risk social unrest. The crime rate in this country is not optimistic either. Thanks but no thanks. Please be a good sport and share your home wit

I guess after years of being killed by Buddhists(yes I kid you not, buddhists terrorizing Muslims) and abused by human traffickers,
cos muslims never do anything wrong do they?

And btw yes i know that buddhists and muslims in places like the south of Thailand have been killing each other for decades.

who cares, let them all die.
That's downright souless. We're all equal in this world as people. It makes me really sad seeing such suffering. No soul deserves it. They need help, not death. We need to sort Myanmar out and stop this crisis at its roots, ending the need for these people having to make such a perilous journey. I don't believe they should all be taken in as thats a greenlight to traffickers and they should only help the most needy and desperate like women and children

Yeah you're right it's none of Britain's business but neither was Iraq or Afghanistan but those guys just killed hundreds of thousands over there.
More reason not to get involved in this.

What do you expect us to do about it? As brutal as it is to say and as heartless as it sounds, I don't think it's Britain's problem.
You will find that this issue does concern Britain. Tensions between the Rohingya people and the local population in Burma began under British colonial rule, and the British failed to completely resolve it during the middle of a Commission due to World War 2. Now the Rohingya people are living in fear of violence, have no citizenship, and the Burmese government will not give them one - this is a violation of Article 15 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that everyone has the right to a nationality.

We would be living in an infinitely more tyrannical world today if people cared only for their personal predicaments, and not for that of others. It is very easy for you to talk so dismissively of the Rohingya people because those who drowned to the end of their lives were not called 'Kate', 'Anne' or 'William'. What you have said doesn't just sound brutal and heartless - it is brutal and heartless.

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

And to live under a real communist regime would remove all freedoms and individual rights. Name one communist state that works?
