    Always have, and always will.

Top note-taking tip: come up with (and/or even write on the first page of your notebook/portfolio) a legend ( think of map legends) that suits you.

For instance, I like underlining definitions, circling or highlighting key words, and I also have a legend with a colour code for whatever I want to find quicker ( as a History and IR student, I usually write my lecturer's quotes in bright blue, general definitions underlined, general quotes in green, examples or references in black, and really important facts in red :cute:.

It might sound time consuming when you begin to write like that, but revising is so much easier.

For really important definitions or quotes, I leave a line empty, write NB in red (which means Nota Bene, Latin for "note well") and I begin the quote and mark it in a rectangle.

Also, my best tip for note taking would be to use different colours (one for each subject) to highlight important phrases and contrast it to e.g. black pen. Also, only write notes on what you need notes for, so the stuff you don't understand, don't bother writing notes on stuff you know perfectly well, it's a waste of time!

    I choose cursive.

I personally write down everything in a clear manner.

First of all I start with a bullet point explanation and then, right below I write down everything in more details. In this way, if I am reviewing for a test and I need to review quickly, I can just read the bullet points.

Since I'm also visual, I prefer to color concepts that are alike with the same colors and other concepts with another color, usually with a highlighter or stabilo pens.

    My top note taking tip:

Always use colours for keywords or trigger words. They are scientifically proven to stimulate the brain, causing you to store that coloured word into your long term memory, making it easier for you to retrieve these words in exams or under pressure.

I choose cursive, although it doesn't look good.
My top note-taking tip is to write in your best handwriting the first time and make it look good so you want to read over your notes when revising.
