Shame (not really) that there isn't any Great British Republic, can we have a reference to the legislation doing this so the repeal can be our first piece of legislation for the parliament, unless somebody else is submitting something v soon.

No, so we are swearing allegiance to the now defunct republic. But the laws on the UK make us swear allegiance to the republic so...

I think it's hilarious that your opinion of me, which is quite clearly fairly low, allows you to have less respect for my party.

I do like it when we are Kingmakers, I do not deny that for a single second. It allows us to push forward moderate, liberal policies.

In a private conversation between ourselves, I said I would only be content if we were in government, given the way the seats played out, as if we were not in government, we'd be left with a ConUKIP government. No thanks. Furthermore, being in Government with Labour gives us a chance to push through moderate, liberal policies, which I hope you will see over the coming term.

    Also Nigel, Why so salty?

Edit: I also find your lack of respect for our private conversation shocking.

I am sorry, I do not have a low opinion of you nor any other Liberal members, but I do have a lower one of the Liberal Party compared to other parties based on the Liberals' niche; I have made an edit to make that clear. I do not understand what people mean when the word salty is used in this context but I will attribute it to personal circumstances if it is not being used in a complimentary way.

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to be in power if you can push your policies through and the Liberals believe that we have the best chance of doing that with Labour.

It came across that you were bitter that you are not in government. It is neither complimentary nor demeaning. Just pointing out how it came across.

That would be a fair response but in the past the Liberals have duped the electorate for votes on the pretence the Liberals will do things, but the Liberals do not do when faced with the opportunity to do. I am frustrated at another coalition involving the Liberals when the Liberal party did not do anything when the Liberals were in a position of power; when a liberal bill was presented it was from Labour, not the Liberals.

I am frustrated at another coalition involving the Liberals when the Liberal party does not do anything of worth when in a position of power. I disagree with Labour but Labour get things done, the Greens are similar, however, the Liberals are in coalition but do not do anything; when a liberal bill is presented it is from the Labour Party, not the Liberal Party.
It is no secret that the Liberals have, even from when I first joined the MHoC, struggled with activity. However, I think our output last term was higher than we are given credit for, given that we produced 5.2 bills or motions per MP, higher than any other party. Furthermore, we tried to push some of our manifesto pledges, including a Model House of Lords and Specialist Healthcare Centres which both unfortunately failed, the latter being a tie and a bill I will be trying to reintroduce this term in an ammended form.

You must remember we have had 5 MPs for the last two terms, and we will deliver even more this term with more active members and more seats.
