Edexcel FP2 Official 2016 Exam Thread - 8th June 2016 watch

Remember you can do that with pretty much anything that is positive for all real values
yes, just confirming it.

Ineqauilty questions in FP2 are free marks tbh
(Original post by Student403)
I'd guess it's b/c of the self selective pool of candidates
Do you mean that only the smart people do it ha

Have you done the 2nd ODE's I keep having to practice them because I keep forgetting what to do with the P.I. lel

Yeah they are lmao

Yes I do

Nah I haven't started 1st/2nd ODE - but I can't wait to! They seem soooo useful

oh right.
1st order is core 4 stuff.

Really? I looked at it and it seemed a bit more

C4 difficulty tbh.

I think i used an integrating factor to solve a c4 question once, it is fun.

I love when you use stuff from one module (that's not core) in another applied/fp

C4 vectors became routine in M2 for me because **** that cosine rule ****

In what topic?

In what topic?
Projectile motion and collisions (the angle between the impulse parts) mostly.

I also differentiated a function of arcsin in a C3 mock but I was awarded no marks lol. I even scribbled down the proof for the teacher's convenience!

Oooh okay I see

12. Am I the only one that found the second ODEs chapter easier than first ODEs chapter?

Finished FP2 two weeks ago, time to practice :P

yes because first ODEs are much harder than second ODEs rofl

Having said loci is far more complex than the DE's

Key word was chapter; I found that I struggled less on the mixed exercise for second ODEs in comparison with first ODEs

I guess it varies from person to person.

And yes lmao I agree, much more complex than DEs

Loci is by far the most difficult part of the module I've found

You were awarded no marks? Seems a little unfair.

I assumed that any legitimate and logical mathematical argument leading to a correct answer warrants full marks regardless of what's on the mark scheme?

Is this not true?

Yes, but my teacher is old and she believes it can't be done because it's not part of the spec. I didn't mind though, I did alright overall.

I think that was just one paper or am I wrong?
I think theyre consistently 70/75 for 90UMS, although i hope youre right

(Original post by kkboyk)
Yeah FP2 is surprisingly nice for Edexcel. I attempted the MEI worksheets and its generally more interesting
Ill be sure to check them out

Yikes, you seem to be right.

IAL June 14 - 68
IAL June 15 - 69

Maybe they're compensating for them low FP3 boundaries?

If you have time, can you look at the top of page12 in the edexcel book,do we need to know that - and does that even make sense?
