i dont like the use the word feminism anymore because it seems like such a dirty word due to the 'death to men' women who are using this term but I am a feminist, because real feminism is equality and not making women above and better than men as many people now think it is

Society's ideology of what roles roles are 'assigned' to both sexes are clearly what you seem to be indoctrinated by i.e men having the instrumental role and women having the expressive role is exactly what reinforces the quality. That is not evolution nor is it a fact, those are society's man made expectations.

They seem to be doing a bloody good job at it if you're following this 'fact' like a little sheep.
you're clearly a sociology student the idea that the difference between men and women is purely down to socialisation is bull**** and has no scientific basis. evolution has made men and women different its purely biological

the vast majority aren't feminists luckily. Only about 20% of men and women call themselves feminists and this is constantly decreasing

Because I believe that we are in fact, different. Why would I want to be equal to a man? I'm not a man. And saying that women are equal to men suggests that women are less otherwise. We are designed and programmed differently, for different tasks (evolution-wise). There are jobs that we can both do with the same efficiency, and there are ones that suit better one sex or another.
What about individuality though, I've always enjoyed activities classed as boyish and nothing girly. I don't feel I'm programmed much differently than a man in terms of personality.

What's wrong with wanting more gender equality though if it works both ways. I don't want to be girly and at the same time I don't think men should be told to 'man up' just because of their gender. It's just gender stereotypes that I think there should be less of surely that would make it fairer for both genders.

Do you need a movement to establish this? Women should not be told what they can and cannot be but by the same logic men should not be told what they can and cannot be. After all, freedom of choice is one of the greatest luxuries we have in the West.

However, recent Feminist discourse has focused on telling people what is 'right' or 'wrong' and basing a great deal of their arguments on emotions rather than fact. A great example of this is the supposed wage gap in the United States. Whether this is true or not is no longer relevant when supporters of this idea quote news outlets or assume that it exists without providing evidence to support it.
