You could have just ignored this but noooo, that would not satisfy your daily pretentiousness and arrogance quota, would it?

I consider this an act of contempt and rebellion against the Crown that should not be tolerated and urge Mr. Speaker RayApparently (or the Deputy Speaker toronto353) to not allow this member to take his seat, speak in debates or vote until the oath or affirmation is taken properly and with appropriate dignity and respect to the Crown, and declare his seat vacant if he attempts to do so.

(This request is based on these information which I hope will suffice, but I can dig up the statute if necessary.)

Shame on him for ridiculing the traditions and laws of his own country, especially while pretending to be an MP and on the floor of the House of Commons during the State Opening of Parliament with Her Majesty present.

    1. My daily pretentiousness quota is very large indeed, so this alone cannot hope to satisfy it.
    2. The Act cited does not apply in the MHoC because it is contrary to the constitution.
    3. I ridicule traditions and laws which are ridiculous, no matter which country they're from.

I'm sure HM will understand that there is a small minority which opposes the continuation of her status, and that this ought to be reflected within her MPs just as much. I'm not an especially strong-feeling republican but the whole 'woohoo queenie' thing is patently silly and deserves to have the piss taken out of it.

Decided it was to archaic for me to go along with, hopefully Labour soon can release a bill changing this nonsense.

I obviously meant present in the Palace of Westminster and probably should have worded it differently or maybe put a comma after ‘Commons’.

You guys would jump Into bed with anyone if it means a position in government
Can you honestly tell me you wouldn't jump into bed with anyone if it meant a cabinet position, though? Also, remember the time when your party jumped into bed with them and Greens precisely for that very reason, which was a combination far more ludicrous that what we had over the last term and now.

I used to agree with your assessment but now I realise that because of their membership which is all over the spectrum, they have no hard ideological limitations like Socialists or UKIP, hence they can disregard principle and choose the best deal they can get, even if it means switching between the opposite sides represented by Labour and Conservative. So yeah, they are opportunists, but not in a negative sense. It's the reality of politics if you want something done instead of alienating everyone else and being left alone to die.

Well, it's not against TSR MHoC rules to do what TDA did. If you submit an amendment to make all MPs take the oath of allegiance or make a solemn affirmation before they are allowed to take their seats, then TDA would have to do it properly or not take his seat.
