Can you study maths at university without further maths A level. I never really thought about a maths degree before but as the years gone on I've enjoyed maths more and more. I also do Economics at a level, could that be classed as statistical maths?
Scottish unis don't usually require FM for 1st year entry as there's no equivalent Advanced Higher.

Cambridge were pretty explicit when I applied (with Advanced Highers) that you need to learn FM before you start if you haven't done it in school. This may be true at other non-Scottish unis as well.

    yeah "straightforward" is subjective

I find stats just dull so many formulas etc mechanics although is challenging to learn its much more enjoyable and you can gain a sense of appreciation of how things work etc. ^
I noticed when I started uni all the A-level people were saying "ugh stats" whereas the scots were super keen as we don't do it at high school and it gets lot more interesting at university.

A-level maths has a lot to answer for! :P
