well it is now 6th richest...

if the EU wants to respond to our "political statement" with "economic damage" then go ahead. At least everything will be cheaper in this country and people won't want to work here
Yep, it's good for the people who love to create things! I don't know why we aren't making more trade deals with eastern countries!

    wrong

it requires only a qualified majority in Council

    Article 50

    3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period.
Hehe. You forgot to read paragraph 3.

" After Brexit, the UK would become a "third country" in EU terms, she said - meaning trade would be carried out based on World Trade Organisation rules until a new deal was complete. "

5th richest economy with rich history is now somehow a third world country???? Does this sound stupid to anyone else?
Anyone who uses state schools, NHS etc will tell you it is already third world.

So you did. I was a slow responder.

It may be worth pointing out that the term "third world country" originally applied to any country, developed or otherwise, that was not aligned to either NATO or the Warsaw Pact. This included Sweden, Ireland and Switzerland.

another quasi-equivalent term was " non-aligned" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Aligned_Movement : the Movement has widely become irrelevant, but still exists

True again (a case of very early Alzheimer's ?)

West Germany joined in 1955, not Sweden
