We have Saoirse saying that this Government is not representative. Need I remind her that the Government that would follow this would have the exact same amount of seats as this one?

There are more ways to be representative than just in the number of seats held.

-----

On the Vonc I'll keep it quick as I'm about to head to the beach ( I do love gloating ).

This vote is an ideological attempt at overthrowing a Government. Whilst many on the opposition benches will disagree with our policies, it is not reason alone to overthrow a Government.

We have Saoirse saying that this Government is not representative. Need I remind her that the Government that would follow this would have the exact same amount of seats as this one?

Anyway, I'm off now. I'll probably reply to anything here tonight

VOTE NAY!

You've had to banish MPs to maintain it, so it's hardly 'representative'. It's also a shame you seem to have forgotten that this is a divided, inactive government with an obscenely naive foreign policy and propped up by a Liberal Party that's managed to make itself unpopular without putting forward a single proposal.

If you're voting in line with the government then maybe you need to consider your affiliations, if you aren't then it's a trivial case.

It's that you don't have policies. This government has no clear ideological platform.

I am talking far more about before the MoNC, though it's good to see you've gotten a kick up the backside.

Would you like to come out from under your rock and into the light?

A stupendous defence - nothing less than oratory fireworks. I'm convinced.

Mr Speaker, please change my vote to a nay. I have seen the budget and am no longer concerned about this government's activity levels.

Mr speaker, one abstain from an aye if you please. I'm ready to make peace and the budget seems good enough to warrant more chanse.

Very much intrigued that two Socialists have done so, so no promises but willing to consider it

FWIW the reason I changed was not so much that I agree with the policy of the budget (although from what I've seen I'm teetering on the side of aye), but rather that I feel that VoNCing this government based on their activity after this sets an unreasonably high standard for future governments to reach.
