lol yeah enjoy your £70 p/w! I have slightly more than that but like you I am not planning to spend it. I will devastatingly in debt when I graduate (£27,100). I need to start saving pennies now!
Woah

I haven't really thought about how much i'll be in debt yet.. and i don't think i want to anytime soon..

£80 or £90 I think, can't remember the figure. I did work it out - not counting the summer holidays, because hopefully I'll have a job/just random money left over then :p: I'm gonna try and put about £20 a week into savings though, for my train funds to see my boyfriend, haha.

Jozeesh: Your egtting that amount per year (not per term), so you divide by 12 for each month of the year if your doing it that way.

Or by 24 if your doing it per week.

like i said before i do it by 9, for 9 months of the academic year, and to get it to weeks, divide that by 4 to get it per week.

Blimey, you have a nice dad!

I am sure £7500 per year would be enough for food and socialising. Even if you divide that by the 52 weeks in a year, you will still have over £300 p/w. And you still wouldn't need to worry about rent or a job!

If i can survive on about £1000 a year after rent, then the £7500 should be no problem.

Agreed. I'll have about £3k after rent and I'm sure I'll be fine on that, nvm £7.5k!

everyone spends different amounts - how much stuff would you say you brought in a week/month? In terms of extras like clothes and things like that?

Its really hard to say - London is also more expensive than other cities.

It depends - do you spend money in your holidays? Are you likely to work in the summer vacation? Are you going to stop sending money when term is over?

I would still divide by 9 months, and then 4 for weekly, and then you assume your going to need extra money over the summer, but you can spend the same amount as during term at christmas and easter!

Well my income per week minus expenditure per week leaves £114.5 p/week. I'm not going to be spending all of that though. And that's assuming I won't be working. So hopefully i'll get a part time job, and definitely work over summer to minimize the debt at the end .

£4589/9 = £509.88

£509.88/4 = £127.47

Then i deduct £56 from it for my accomodation [i think it's around £56] and it works out as.... £71.47..

Excluding rent, food, and Starbucks latte allowance, £130/week.

It's amazing how much can be spent on alcohol, socialising, lunch and drugs. Not necessarily in that order.
