Don't like the thought of having to get a job now. Would rather study a subject I enjoy in a cool city and meet some nice people, whilst at the same time improving job prospects. Win win situation. Plus I don't think I could stand living a) at home b) in my home town much longer.

Because it's expected, I guess.

I'm not someone who really wants to go study a certain subject, or wants to go for the fun experience.

I'm going, because...well what else is there to do? I'm not going to spend my life stuck in a dead-end job like I am at the moment.

Knowledge and the experience. It annoys me when people try to manipulate universities and use them as a stepping stone for their career. That isn't what university should be about.
Who can say what university should be about? I agree that education for education's sake is a good thing -- hey, I have to, I'm studying Classics! However, if someone wanted desperately to become a lawyer and they studied only with this end in sight, I wouldn't argue that that's a necessarily bad thing. They may get more personal enjoyment from the ultimate career than academia. Though I wouldn't like capitalism to force us all to think that universities are merely career factories, of course.

I am going because...
-No one has ever been to uni in my family and I want to break the chain. My mum got offers but didn't get the grades due to personal circumstances.
-I want to live abroad or study abroad and I couldn't achieve this otherwise
-I have a genuine passion for my subject and want to learn more
-I think the experience will make me a better person
-I want to meet new people who share my interests
-I don't know what I'd do otherwise
-I want to work with languages and without a degree, I couldn't reach the level I want and alot of jobs wouldn't be open to me

I can't wait!!!

It puts off actually having to be realistic and grown up for a few more years.

Largely because there's nothing else for me to do, I have worked as a shop asistant, I know I don't want to spend my life doing waged work. I want to do something that I will love every minute of. i know that not everyone has the opporunity, and that many people are perfectly happy, and become quite successful starting from the bottom, many more so than I will be. But I don't have the staying power to do somethng I dont enjoy.

I intend on going to university primarily due to a thirst for knowledge, and to better myself (become a more rounded person); a good career afterwards (if I don't continue with postgraduate) is a perk.
